📋 Description

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend infrastructure with a focus on scalability, performance, and 99.99% uptime reliability.
• Design, evolve, and optimize data models and persistence layers using PostgreSQL, adhering to best practices in schema design, indexing, query performance, migrations, and transaction handling.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI, ensuring proper versioning, authentication, authorization, and comprehensive observability practices.
• Engage in pair programming sessions to enhance code quality, share knowledge, and uphold engineering standards across the team.
• Manage production deployments and environment configurations using Kubernetes and GitOps workflows with ArgoCD.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, providing actionable feedback to maintain high code quality and promote team-wide adherence to best practices.
• Contribute end-to-end to product delivery, including occasional development of front-end features alongside backend systems.
• Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate testing, building, and deployment processes.
• Operate in a cloud-native environment, leveraging GCP or AWS for hosting and managing scalable backend services.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into reliable, maintainable backend systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on rapid resolution and system resilience.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify performance bottlenecks and operational anomalies.
• Participate in architectural discussions to evolve the platform’s scalability and maintainability as interaction volumes grow beyond 150M.
• Maintain clear documentation for data models, API contracts, deployment procedures, and system architecture.
• Support on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and rapid response to critical incidents.
• Work within an engineering-first culture that prioritizes foundational systems, clean architecture, and long-term maintainability over quick fixes.
• Contribute to a codebase that powers over 20M hours of automated customer operations across voice, chat, and messaging channels.
• Work alongside teams building AI agents that handle 60% more calls than non-AI operators while maintaining consistent uptime.
• Adapt quickly to evolving product needs in a startup environment with high ownership and minimal bureaucracy.
• Help shape the future of an enterprise AI agent platform trusted by 1,000+ customers and backed by Accel, Atlantic Labs, and Singular.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Python developer, shipping production systems.
• Strong experience building scalable and extensible data infrastructure with PostgreSQL.
• Deep familiarity with relational databases including performance tuning, migrations, and transaction management.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade APIs with FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience running production workloads on Kubernetes.
• Experience with Argo CD for GitOps deployment workflows.
