- • Lead and supervise the ELP team’s research efforts using quantitative and qualitative methodologies to ensure the validity and reliability of English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessments.
- • Design and implement research studies that support the technical quality and innovation of CAI’s large-scale ELP assessment systems.
- • Serve as the primary subject matter expert guiding ELP content development directions based on research findings and educational best practices.
- • Prepare and present research findings to internal stakeholders, educators, and external audiences at industry conferences, representing CAI as a thought leader in ELP assessment.
- • Author and review research reports, journal articles, and book chapters to disseminate applied research outcomes and strengthen CAI’s academic and industry presence.
- • Support the operational delivery of ELP assessments by contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of new product features and assessment tools.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and instructional teams to align research objectives with product development and customer needs.
- • Engage with external partners, vendors, and educational institutions to gather feedback and ensure assessments meet state and federal standards.
- • Translate complex research data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences, including educators, policymakers, and administrators.
- • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in language assessment, educational technology, and standardized testing to inform innovation in ELP solutions.
- • Travel as required to attend client meetings, professional conferences, and collaborative research events across the United States.
🎯 Requirements
- • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Language Testing, Linguistics, Educational Research, or a closely related field
- • Demonstrated experience in the design, evaluation, and research of large-scale language assessments, with exceptional preference for expertise in English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment
- • Deep understanding of advanced quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and statistical analysis
- • Professional experience in a large-scale assessment organization or an applied research setting
- • Proven ability to facilitate meetings and build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, educators, and external vendors
- • Demonstrated history of publishing research (reports, articles, or book chapters) and presenting complex project information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and conferences
