📋 Description

• Serve as a Senior Revenue Accountant responsible for accurate and timely revenue recognition across consumer and enterprise SaaS subscription models.
• Book journal entries for revenue, accounts receivable, allowance for doubtful accounts, deferred revenue, and related cash accounts.
• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of all revenue-related balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and GAAP standards.
• Prepare detailed variance analyses of P&L and balance sheet accounts, identifying trends and anomalies impacting revenue reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A to provide accurate revenue data and insights used in financial modeling and forecasting of future results.
• Produce clear, well-documented memos and financial reports to support internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audit processes, ensuring all revenue-related controls are properly documented and tested.
• Execute and maintain key internal controls over financial reporting related to revenue cycles.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy in revenue accounting workflows.
• Work with accounting software such as NetSuite to manage revenue recognition, billing, and financial reporting.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets, build financial models, and automate recurring reporting tasks.
• Support revenue accounting operations for both direct online sales and traditional sales channels, handling diverse customer and contract types.
• Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned, including system enhancements, process documentation, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Engage with Salesforce and Stripe systems to validate sales data, reconcile payment records, and ensure alignment between CRM, billing, and accounting systems.
• Apply AI tools thoughtfully to streamline repetitive tasks, improve data accuracy, and generate executive-level financial narratives while maintaining strict accountability for controls and confidentiality.
• Maintain strict adherence to deadlines and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Contribute to a remote-first culture that values collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement through feedback and innovation.
• Participate in required in-person engagements, including annual department offsites, team meetings, and industry events, as part of 1Password’s remote-first policy.
• Support the company’s mission by ensuring financial integrity of revenue reporting, directly enabling secure digital adoption for over 180,000 businesses worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably at a SaaS company or public accounting firm
• CPA or CA designation, or actively pursuing such designation
• Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with Salesforce and/or Stripe is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision

• Annual base salary of $92,000–$129,000 USD (US) or $82,000–$115,000 CAD (Canada)
