  • • Join Kraken, a pioneering force in the cryptocurrency space, and contribute to shaping the future of digital finance. We are a mission-focused company dedicated to accelerating the global adoption of crypto, empowering individuals with financial freedom and inclusion. As a fully remote company with a global presence, we foster a diverse and inclusive environment where talented individuals from over 70 countries collaborate to build world-class crypto products.
  • • The Growth team at Kraken is at the forefront of expanding our user base. We achieve this by meticulously optimizing every touchpoint of the user journey, from their initial encounter with Kraken to fostering long-term engagement and loyalty. Our collaborative approach involves working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Design teams to drive activation rates and ensure a seamless, exceptional user experience across all our platforms.
  • • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to become an integral part of the Growth Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in scaling our automation initiatives, designing and implementing robust test strategies, and upholding the highest standards of quality for our products. You will collaborate closely with an existing SDET and the broader engineering organization, contributing to the evolution of our testing frameworks and ensuring consistency and reliability in our quality assurance processes.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain high-quality automated tests for both frontend and backend systems. You will leverage Playwright with TypeScript as your primary toolset, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and rapid feedback loops. This includes developing end-to-end tests, integration tests, and API tests that validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of our growth-focused features.
  • • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work hand-in-hand with the existing SDET and engineering teams to define comprehensive test strategies, detailed test plans, and meaningful quality metrics. This collaborative effort will ensure that our testing aligns with product goals and business objectives, providing confidence in our releases.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve integrating automated tests into our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. By ensuring seamless integration, you will provide fast, actionable feedback to development teams, enabling quicker iteration cycles and more reliable, frequent releases. This proactive approach to quality assurance is vital for a fast-paced growth environment.
  • • While automation is paramount, there will be instances where manual testing is necessary. You will perform manual testing to validate complex scenarios, explore edge cases, and complement our automated test suites, ensuring a holistic approach to quality assurance.
  • • You will be a key contributor to the continuous improvement of our testing frameworks. This includes identifying areas for enhancement, proposing new testing tools or methodologies, and actively sharing best practices with your SDET peer and the wider engineering community. Your insights will help increase test coverage, improve reliability, and accelerate test execution speed.
  • • Effective communication and bug management are essential. You will be responsible for clearly documenting identified issues, effectively communicating your findings to product and engineering teams, and working collaboratively to ensure that bugs are resolved promptly and thoroughly before release. This proactive engagement minimizes risks and enhances product stability.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on Kraken's growth trajectory. You will have the autonomy to drive your work while also being part of a supportive and collaborative team that values knowledge sharing and continuous learning. If you are passionate about crypto, possess strong technical skills, and are driven by a desire to build high-quality products, we encourage you to apply.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Strong programming experience in TypeScript.
  • • Expertise in Playwright for test automation; experience with other frameworks like Cypress or Selenium is a plus.
  • • Extensive experience in UI and API test automation within Agile development environments.
  • • Solid understanding of QA processes, including bug tracking, test documentation, non-functional testing, security testing, and black-box testing.
  • • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote work environment, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.
  • • Opportunity to work in the rapidly evolving and exciting cryptocurrency industry.
  • • Collaborative and inclusive company culture with a focus on mission and crypto values.
  • • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • • Professional development opportunities and continuous learning environment.
