📋 Description

• As a Senior Security Engineer focused on Vulnerability Automation at Jane Technologies, you will design, build, and own the vulnerability engineering pipeline—from threat intelligence ingestion through automated PR generation—establishing the technical architecture and standards that enable the security team to deliver validated, actionable remediation to development teams without burdening them with false positives or investigative work.
• Day to day, you will experiment with AI-powered tooling to improve security workflows, partner with dev teams to make security feel like a service, coordinate multi-team resolution, build and refine automation pipelines using Python and GitHub Actions, coordinate cross-team vulnerability remediation by tracking resolution progress and communication, contribute to on-call rotations by improving runbooks and post-incident reviews, and mentor teammates by sharing knowledge and setting technical direction that elevates the entire security team’s effectiveness.
• You will join a collaborative Security Engineering team of ten within Jane, a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company serving thousands of clinics across Canada, the US, and the UK. The team spans AppSec, Cloud Security, Enterprise Security, Red Team, and Enablement, united by a mission to protect patient health information and empower practitioners through trusted, secure technology.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in vulnerability lifecycle engineering, AI-assisted security tooling, and cross-functional influence without authority. You will have the opportunity to shape technical standards, mentor engineers, and become a force multiplier whose work makes other engineers’ lives simpler while directly improving the security posture of a mission-driven organization serving healthcare providers.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated depth in security engineering with shipped automation, pipelines, or internal security tooling that other teams actually used, including hands-on experience with Python and CI/CD security integrations, particularly GitHub Actions
• Builder’s mentality about AI: active experimentation, staying current, and energization from building smarter ways to solve problems using AI-assisted workflows and tooling
• Applied knowledge of web and API vulnerability classes, including SAST, SCA, secret detection, DAST, and ASPM tooling, with ability to provide tailored remediation guidance; mobile application vulnerability experience is a bonus
• Track record of cross-team influence without authority—using emotional intelligence, audience-adapted communication, and credibility to drive proactive engineer engagement
• History as a force multiplier: setting technical direction others follow, mentoring engineers at various levels, and freely sharing knowledge to meaningfully improve surrounding teams

• Annual salary range of $128,000 to $200,000, with most new hires starting at $152,000 (accomplished stage), reflecting pay for growth and skill development
