- • As a Senior Security Operations Engineer at Cohere Inc., you will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and partner teams by clearly articulating business risks associated with security issues, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making and that risks are communicated effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- • You will harden cloud-native environments across AWS, OCI, and GCP by implementing secure-by-default designs and features into network configurations, tooling, and operational processes, reducing attack surfaces and strengthening the overall security posture of the infrastructure.
- • You will own and drive resolutions that enable engineers to design, build, and use infrastructure securely at scale by deploying secure architectures using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and reusable code libraries, promoting consistency, automation, and security as a foundational element of development workflows.
- • You will manage IAM/RBAC for cloud infrastructure and partner with IT to streamline authentication and authorization, ensuring unified access control across all systems and reducing the risk of privilege creep or misconfiguration.
- • You will deploy and operationalize critical security services and tools, including SIEM, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint protection, and cloud security tooling, enabling proactive threat detection, rapid incident response, and continuous monitoring of the environment.
- • You will respond to security incidents and lead post-incident hardening efforts, conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and improving defenses to prevent recurrence.
- • You will support control monitoring and remediation for compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements through continuous assessment and timely closure of findings.
- • You will gather and analyze security metrics to identify trends, measure effectiveness of controls, and address security issues with cross-team dependencies, enabling data-driven improvements to the security program.
- • You will act as a problem solver who is empathetic to developer concerns, employing a constructive and flexible approach to building innovative security solutions that balance security needs with developer velocity and usability.
- • You will work closely with a team of researchers, engineers, and designers at the forefront of AI innovation, contributing to the security of frontier models and AI systems that power magical experiences like content generation, semantic search, RAG, and agents for developers and enterprises worldwide.
- • You will help scale intelligence to serve humanity by ensuring that the AI systems Cohere builds are not only powerful but also secure, trustworthy, and resilient against evolving threats in a high-stakes technological landscape.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of previous experience in SecOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Security, Threat Detection & Response, or software development with a strong focus on security tool onboarding and optimization
- • Hands-on experience managing cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI) and Kubernetes environments, including infrastructure automation, network segmentation, system hardening, and container/cloud security concepts
- • Proficiency with CI/CD systems and SecOps workflows using tools like Git and Terraform in cloud environments, along with experience in one or more programming languages such as Golang and/or Python
