- • As a Senior Security Program Manager at Coinbase, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing critical compliance and security initiatives across the EMEA region. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our regulated entities, including those in Ireland, Germany, and the UK, adhere to stringent security standards and effectively mitigate risks at scale, acting as the vital "connective tissue" between these entities and our global shared services.
- • You will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex security programs, focusing on designing, launching, and managing comprehensive compliance tracks tailored to multiple jurisdictions. This involves a daily, proactive liaison with our U.S.-based shared-service partners to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment.
- • A core responsibility will be driving both 1st- and 2nd-line security programs, with a strong emphasis on risk management, control implementation, and operational efficiency. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving critical business outcomes under evolving regulatory landscapes such as MiCA, DORA, BAIT, and GDPR, alongside local frameworks.
- • You will collaborate closely with Information Security and Technology Risk and Controls teams to proactively identify and manage potential risks. This includes evolving existing controls, ensuring robust compliance with applicable frameworks like SOX, SOC2, and ISO27001, and consistently aligning these efforts with overarching business objectives.
- • Owning the program roadmap is key. This involves defining clear success metrics, setting ambitious adoption targets, and establishing precise delivery milestones. You will meticulously monitor progress, leveraging both qualitative insights and quantitative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- • A critical aspect of this role is the proactive identification of cross-functional blockers. You will assess their potential impacts on program delivery and present clear, actionable mitigation plans to senior leadership, ensuring that projects remain on track and objectives are met.
- • You will be tasked with continuously refining security templates, playbooks, and metrics. The goal is to ensure these resources are simple, repeatable, and scalable, enabling efficient expansion into new markets and adaptation to new regulatory requirements.
- • This role demands a strategic mindset, enabling you to translate complex security and risk concepts into actionable plans and clear communications for a diverse, international audience, including U.S.-based leadership and engineering teams.
- • You will foster a culture of security and compliance, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across various departments and geographies.
- • The position requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the FinTech and cryptocurrency space, ensuring that security programs are not only compliant but also innovative and effective in protecting digital assets.
- • You will champion Coinbase's "Most Trusted" brand by ensuring the highest standards of security and compliance are met across all EMEA operations.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with high-caliber colleagues and contributing to the future of the global financial system.
- • You will be expected to thrive in a distributed, multi-cultural environment, adept at navigating different time zones and communication styles to achieve program success.
- • The role involves managing relationships with outsourced security providers, meticulously tracking their Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs to guarantee delivery and performance.
- • You will play a crucial part in ensuring that Coinbase's security posture is robust, resilient, and aligned with global best practices, especially within the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape.
- • Ultimately, you will be responsible for driving significant security and compliance outcomes that protect Coinbase and its users, contributing directly to the company's mission of increasing economic freedom worldwide.
