- • Join Veriff's dynamic and fast-paced Engineering team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), where you will be instrumental in fostering operational excellence and a reliability-first mindset across the organization.
- • This role is pivotal in connecting DevOps, product, and engineering teams, ensuring seamless collaboration, efficient resolution of blockers, and alignment towards shared objectives.
- • As a Senior SRE Coach, you will not only champion SRE principles and best practices but also empower individual teams to embrace and take ownership of their service reliability.
- • Your technical acumen and exceptional communication skills will be key in leading initiatives that enhance system resilience and drive continuous improvement throughout Veriff's infrastructure.
- • You will play a crucial role in protecting honest people online by advocating for and implementing robust SRE practices.
- • Drive the adoption of SRE principles, cultivating a strong culture of reliability, deep observability, and overall operational excellence among all engineering and product teams.
- • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and various service teams to refine existing processes, proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, and ensure smooth operational workflows.
- • Spearhead significant improvements in observability by enhancing logging, tracing, and metrics collection and analysis, thereby enabling proactive detection and rapid resolution of potential issues.
- • Define, implement, and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to accurately measure and maintain system reliability, ensuring alignment with critical business objectives and user expectations.
- • Champion the strategic use of Error Budgets as a mechanism for balancing innovation with stability, and lead thorough post-incident reviews to foster a culture of learning, accountability, and relentless continuous improvement.
- • Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing systems, architectures, and operational processes to identify key opportunities for enhancing scalability, robustness, and overall system reliability.
- • Inspire and guide teams to actively take ownership of their service reliability, fostering a shared sense of responsibility and driving consensus on critical reliability goals.
- • Contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure as code, ensuring consistency and repeatability in deployments and configurations.
- • Participate in on-call rotations, providing expert-level incident response and post-mortem analysis to prevent recurrence of issues.
- • Mentor junior engineers and SREs, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate the team's overall capabilities.
- • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools that can further enhance system reliability, performance, and observability.
- • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and runbooks to ensure knowledge transfer and operational efficiency.
- • Work with security teams to ensure reliability practices align with security requirements and best practices.
- • Contribute to the architectural design of new services and features, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability from the outset.
- • Actively participate in architectural review meetings, providing insights and recommendations from an SRE perspective.
- • Develop automation strategies to reduce toil and improve the efficiency of operational tasks.
- • Ensure that monitoring and alerting systems are effective, actionable, and tuned to minimize alert fatigue while maximizing incident detection capabilities.
- • Contribute to capacity planning and performance tuning efforts to ensure systems can handle anticipated growth and traffic spikes.
- • Foster a culture of blamelessness during incident response and post-mortems, focusing on systemic improvements rather than individual fault.
- • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in SRE, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
