  • • Babylist is seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Social Media Manager to spearhead the evolution of our social media presence during a period of significant growth and increasing brand visibility. This is a pivotal role where social media is central to connecting with our audience, driving engagement, fostering community, and creating compelling content that resonates with parents and expectant parents across all platforms.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to redefine Babylist's social media strategy, moving beyond established playbooks to innovate creatively and strategically. You will be instrumental in shaping how Babylist connects with its audience in the digital space, ensuring our brand voice is authentic, culturally relevant, and deeply understanding of our community's needs.
  • • As a key member of the Brand Marketing team, you will report directly to the Director of PR and Social. Your primary focus will be to elevate the creative output and strategic direction of our social channels, ensuring a high taste level, cultural fluency, and profound audience insight in every piece of content.
  • • You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including PR/Influencer Marketing, Brand Partnerships, Acquisition, Editorial, and Creative departments. This collaboration is crucial for integrating social media seamlessly into broader marketing campaigns and ensuring a consistent brand message across all touchpoints.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a dual capability: the ability to think strategically about the big picture while also being hands-on and willing to execute. This means you are comfortable outlining quarterly strategies and equally adept at shooting and editing a TikTok video for immediate publication. You are energized by both the overarching vision and the detailed execution.
  • • Your responsibilities will include leading the strategic overhaul of Babylist's social media presence, setting new benchmarks for content quality, platform performance, and cultural relevance. You will be tasked with creating content that fosters emotional and cultural connections with expecting families, delivering joy, humor, empathy, and practical utility precisely when it's needed.
  • • You will serve as the creative and strategic lead for TikTok, a platform where you will manage everything from trendspotting and creator collaborations to hands-on content creation and performance optimization. Your deep understanding of TikTok's organic content ecosystem will be vital.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve collaborating with internal partners to align messaging and amplify campaigns. This includes working with PR, influencer marketing, brand partnerships, editorial, acquisition, and creative teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful presence.
  • • You will be responsible for setting and tracking meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), using data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions, refine content approaches, and effectively communicate the impact of social media efforts to stakeholders.
  • • Leveraging AI and emerging tools will be a core aspect of your role, enabling you to scale creativity and efficiency. You will explore innovative ways to automate processes, optimize workflows, and enhance content creation and performance analysis.
  • • You will be expected to respond swiftly and thoughtfully to emerging trends, online conversations, and audience feedback, ensuring Babylist consistently communicates with empathy, integrity, and agility.

  • • This role requires a deep empathy for the Babylist audience, understanding the unique emotional journey of pregnancy and early parenthood. This insight will guide your content creation, ensuring our social channels remain a trusted and affirming space for expecting families.
  • • You will be a true TikTok native, understanding the nuances of organic content, creator dynamics, and real-time trend adaptation. Your judgment will be critical in selecting trends that align with the brand's voice and build audience trust, while knowing which trends to avoid.
  • • Your strategic thinking will be applied to scaling social programs, growing our audience base, and achieving measurable business results. You will also be a hands-on content creator, experienced in producing platform-native content, including short-form video, from concept to optimization.
  • • Strong creative judgment and trend fluency are essential, enabling you to connect pop culture moments with brand relevance. You will be analytical and data-driven, translating social insights into actionable content decisions and strategic pivots.
  • • Experience with branded social content and a keen understanding of successful brand partnerships on social media will be valuable, ensuring collaborations benefit both Babylist and our partners.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of social media experience in a consumer-facing brand with over 500k followers.
  • • Deep expertise across core social platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and especially TikTok.
  • • Proven ability to create platform-native content, including short-form video (storyboarding, filming, editing, and optimizing TikToks).
  • • Strong creative judgment, trend fluency, and a deep understanding of pop culture and its relevance to brand messaging.
  • • Analytical and data-driven approach to social media strategy and content optimization.
  • • Experience with branded social content and understanding of effective brand partnerships on social media.
  • • Thoughtful, agile, and clear communicator, adept at managing real-time social media conversations and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • • Deep empathy for the target audience (expecting and new parents) and ability to translate that understanding into resonant content.
  • • Early adopter and curious user of AI tools for social media enhancement and efficiency.
