📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer — Backend at Bastion, you will design and build backend services and APIs that enable financial institutions and enterprises to issue regulated stablecoins, manage custody, and orchestrate cross-border transfers, on/off-ramps, and stablecoin conversions.
• Day to day, you will develop, create, and modify server-side applications, design and evolve data models and async workflows, implement reliable, auditable job flows, and collaborate with product, security, and compliance to deliver production-ready features.
• Bastion’s platform combines stablecoin issuance, secure custody, and seamless orchestration; the engineering team delivers high-throughput, secure systems that optimize revenue, compliance, and control for partners.
• In this role, you can gain deep experience with financial rails and regulated stablecoins, work with hardware-backed key isolation, influence system-level design, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to product features that scale global payments.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
• 5-8+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong experience in Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or similar languages; familiarity with Rust is a plus
• Experience with gRPC/REST APIs and service-oriented design
• Background with Postgres, Redis, Kafka (or similar data and async systems)
• Experience with workflow systems (e.g., Temporal) and building idempotent, high-throughput job flows
• Familiarity with cloud infra and tooling: AWS, containers, Kubernetes, Terraform
• Knowledge of observability and ops tools (Datadog, Grafana, Sentry, or similar)
• Security-minded development practices; experience with hardware-backed key isolation (e.g., Nitro Enclaves) is a plus
• Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment
