Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of critical product features—from ideation and architecture through deployment, monitoring, and iterative refinement—ensuring that every line of code you ship advances Genio’s mission to revolutionize how businesses harness data.
- • Spearhead the design of resilient, cloud-native systems that handle millions of transactions per day, leveraging micro-services, event-driven architectures, and modern DevOps practices to guarantee 99.9 % uptime and sub-second response times.
- • Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical roadmaps, breaking epics into sprint-sized deliverables while proactively surfacing risks, trade-offs, and opportunities for innovation to stakeholders across Product, Design, and Customer Success.
- • Champion clean-code principles and rigorous automated testing (unit, integration, contract, performance), establishing coding standards, PR templates, and CI/CD guardrails that raise the bar for quality across every squad in the organization.
- • Mentor and level-up a distributed team of mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, brown-bag sessions, and individualized growth plans, fostering a culture of psychological safety where bold ideas and constructive feedback thrive.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, security engineers, and UX researchers to embed privacy-by-design, accessibility, and ethical AI considerations into the product from day one, not as afterthoughts.
- • Lead incident response and post-mortems for high-severity outages, turning failures into learning opportunities by documenting root causes, driving systemic fixes, and sharing insights company-wide to prevent recurrence.
- • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies—whether that’s serverless patterns, edge computing, or new language runtimes—and run pragmatic proof-of-concepts that inform Genio’s 12-month technical strategy and keep us ahead of the curve.
- • Contribute to open-source communities and internal guilds, representing Genio at conferences and meetups to attract top-tier talent and give back to the ecosystems that power our stack.
- • Balance short-term delivery pressure with long-term sustainability, making data-driven decisions on technical debt, refactoring priorities, and infrastructure investments that protect velocity and engineer happiness.
- • Build observability dashboards and alerting strategies that turn terabytes of logs and metrics into actionable insights, empowering squads to self-serve performance tuning and capacity planning without waiting on ops gatekeepers.
- • Act as a key liaison between engineering and executive leadership, distilling complex technical trade-offs into concise narratives that influence quarterly OKRs and multi-year product vision.
- • Foster inclusive remote-first rituals—async stand-ups, rotating facilitation, time-zone-friendly retros—that keep a globally distributed team cohesive, engaged, and high-performing.
- • Drive security and compliance initiatives (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) by embedding automated scanning, secrets management, and policy-as-code into every pull request, ensuring customers trust Genio with their most sensitive data.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of production-grade software engineering experience in at least two modern languages (TypeScript, Go, Kotlin, or Rust strongly preferred) with deep fluency in cloud-native patterns and container orchestration.
- • Demonstrated ownership of large-scale distributed systems—designing APIs, data pipelines, or event buses that serve >1 M daily active users while maintaining strict SLOs.
- • Proven track record of mentoring engineers and leading technical decision-making in cross-functional squads, evidenced by career-growth stories and measurable improvements in team velocity or quality metrics.
- • Expert-level proficiency with AWS or GCP (multi-region deployments, IAM, serverless, managed Kubernetes), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Pulumi), and modern CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar).
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with real-time analytics platforms (Kafka, Flink, or ClickHouse), security certifications, or contributions to OSS projects with 500+ GitHub stars.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly off-sites in inspiring global locations, covering flights, accommodation, and curated team-building experiences.
- • Competitive base salary plus equity in a fast-growing, profitable scale-up with transparent financials and a 10-year option exercise window.
- • Annual $3,500 professional-development stipend for conferences, courses, or certifications, plus five dedicated learning days per year.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents, plus mental-health and wellness allowances for therapy, gym memberships, or meditation apps.
- • Flexible PTO policy with a minimum of 20 days encouraged, plus end-of-year company shutdown to ensure everyone truly disconnects and recharges.
