• • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Atlas Engineering team, within the Shared Data Experience (SDX) Services organization, you will play a pivotal role in defining, driving, developing, and maintaining Atlas products. Your work will be crucial in enabling robust data security for the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).
• • Apache Atlas is a foundational component designed for seamless metadata exchange with various tools and processes, both within and outside the Hadoop ecosystem. It enables platform-agnostic governance controls, effectively addressing critical compliance requirements. Atlas is engineered for scalability, allowing for the modeling of new business processes and data assets with agility, driven by metadata.
• • The SDX organization is dedicated to providing a consistent data experience across diverse usage patterns, including data warehousing and machine learning. Cloudera's CDP is uniquely positioned to deliver this shared data experience, and your contributions will directly enhance its capabilities.
• • You will be an integral part of a dynamic engineering team responsible for the design, development, and delivery of features across the Atlas product suite. The team's primary mission is to deliver a high-quality metadata management service within our CDP products, supporting various deployments including Public Cloud, Private Cloud Base, and others.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to enhancing Apache Atlas to meet the demanding needs of enterprise customers. This includes developing features for cross-data center replication, improving scalability and performance, and managing security policies.
• • This role thrives on a startup mindset, encouraging incremental feature development and adaptability based on customer and client feedback. You will collaborate closely with globally distributed engineering teams, product managers, and UX designers.

• • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with platform and UI engineers, quality assurance engineers, and UX designers. You will also work closely with Product Management, Field Engineering, and other external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful product delivery.
• • Engage with multiple codebases to tackle and resolve complex technical challenges, contributing to the overall robustness and functionality of the platform.
• • Provide essential support to the customer support team by addressing and resolving customer-reported issues, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• • Contribute to the evolution of Apache Atlas, enhancing its capabilities for metadata management, governance, and security within the Cloudera Data Platform.
• • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including clean coding, thorough testing, and a relentless focus on quality and maintainability.
• • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the team.
• • Proactively identify opportunities for performance optimization and cost reduction in the platform's architecture and implementation.
• • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application to enhance Cloudera's data platform offerings.
• • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines.
• • Contribute to the technical roadmap and strategic planning for the Atlas product and related SDX components.
• • Ensure the security and compliance of the platform by implementing and adhering to robust security protocols and best practices.
• • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across distributed systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• • Collaborate with product management to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
