Senior Software Engineer

📋 Description

• • Design, build, and maintain production-grade backend services using C#, TypeScript (Node.js), or Java
• • Develop cloud-native applications deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP with a focus on scalability and reliability
• • Contribute to system architecture decisions, ensuring solutions meet performance, resilience, and maintainability standards
• • Work with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures to enable scalable application behavior
• • Collaborate with platform teams to optimize deployment processes and ensure robust, automated infrastructure
• • Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment frequency, stability, and rollback capabilities
• • Troubleshoot and resolve issues spanning application code, runtime environments, and underlying infrastructure layers
• • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
• • Promote a culture of engineering excellence by advocating for best practices in testing, documentation, and observability
• • Work closely with cross-functional product, QA, and operations teams to deliver production-ready features on schedule
• • Take ownership of technical initiatives from design through deployment and post-launch monitoring
• • Ensure systems are designed with observability in mind, integrating logging, monitoring, and alerting tooling
• • Participate in on-call rotations to support live systems and respond to incidents with urgency and precision
• • Engage in architecture reviews and technical spikes to evaluate new tools, frameworks, or patterns for adoption
• • Advocate for clean, maintainable code and enforce standards through team collaboration and tooling
• • Apply software engineering fundamentals — including design patterns, concurrency, data structures, and algorithms — to solve real-world problems
• • Balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction, prioritizing long-term system health alongside business needs
• • Continuously seek improvements in engineering workflows, automation, and developer experience
• • Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate their relevance to Instil’s technology stack and client solutions
• • Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
• • Drive accountability for system quality, security, and performance across the entire delivery lifecycle
• • Ensure all development activities align with compliance, security, and operational best practices
