- • Architect, build and own end-to-end features for TreviPay’s global B2B payments platform that processes millions of dollars in trade credit every day. You will write secure, maintainable code across the stack—from React front-end components to Java/SpringBoot micro-services—ensuring that manufacturers, retailers and transportation giants can extend net-terms to their buyers without friction.
- • Drive technical excellence by establishing and evangelizing engineering best practices: clean architecture, test-driven development, continuous integration/delivery, rigorous code reviews and automated security scanning. Your decisions will directly influence system reliability, scalability and the speed at which new markets are opened.
- • Lead a cross-functional squad of 4-6 engineers, QA analysts and product designers. Translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions, break work into sprint-sized deliverables and keep stakeholders informed with clear road-maps and demos. Your leadership style is servant-first: unblock teammates, pair program when needed and celebrate wins loudly.
- • Serve as the go-to authority on distributed-systems design. You will evaluate trade-offs between consistency, availability and partition tolerance, select the right data stores (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis), and design resilient event-driven workflows that guarantee idempotency and exactly-once processing—even when third-party APIs are flaky.
- • Champion observability and production excellence. Instrument services with metrics, traces and structured logs; configure alerts that fire before customers notice issues; and participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation that values sustainable incident response. Post-incident, you will run blameless retros and turn lessons learned into automated safeguards.
- • Mentor and level-up junior and mid-level engineers through weekly 1:1s, architecture deep-dives and lightning talks. Create career-growth plans, delegate ownership of subsystems and provide actionable feedback that turns good developers into great ones. Your legacy will be measured by the leaders you leave behind.
- • Collaborate directly with product management, risk, compliance and external clients to shape the roadmap. Translate regulatory requirements (KYC, AML, PCI-DSS) into technical controls, estimate effort with confidence and negotiate scope so that we ship value early and often while never compromising on security.
- • Continuously research emerging technologies—think event sourcing, zero-trust networking, confidential computing—and run small experiments that prove (or disprove) their value. When an experiment succeeds, you will socialize the findings, update our technical vision and shepherd adoption across teams.
- • Foster a culture of psychological safety, curiosity and fun. Whether it’s a lunch-and-learn on functional programming, a hackathon that prototypes a new financing product, or a virtual game night, you will help make TreviPay a place where people do the best work of their careers and still have energy left for life outside the office.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of professional software-engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical-lead capacity
- • Expert-level proficiency in Java and the SpringBoot ecosystem; ability to reason about concurrency, JVM tuning and dependency management
- • Demonstrated success designing, building and operating secure, high-throughput REST/GraphQL APIs in a cloud-native environment (AWS or Heroku strongly preferred)
- • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- • Deep understanding of distributed-systems concepts—CAP theorem, eventual consistency, saga patterns—and practical experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS) and relational/NoSQL data stores
