• • Within the Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of the Exercise Architect Suite (EASE). EASE is a sophisticated tool meticulously designed for military, intelligence, law enforcement, and emergency response organizations, enabling them to craft and execute large-scale training exercises with remarkable ease and minimal manual intervention. Our current strategic focus is on integrating advanced generative AI features, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to produce highly relevant and dynamic training content. The primary technology stack for our development includes Typescript and Python, complemented by a Vue.js frontend.
• • This role offers the flexibility of being 100% remote, with the option to work from anywhere within Canada. While we embrace flexible working hours, our core collaborative meetings are scheduled around the Eastern Time Zone. We operate with a philosophy of shipping code frequently, valuing collaboration above all else, and are driven by tangible results rather than rigid processes. Our development methodology is a lightweight Scrum (agile) approach, underpinned by a strong commitment to continuous improvement and iterative enhancement.
• • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of leading the architectural design and implementation of key EASE features. This encompasses the development of robust APIs, intuitive user interfaces (UX), and comprehensive automated tests to ensure quality and reliability. A crucial aspect of your role will involve actively gathering feedback from stakeholders and translating their needs into well-defined, actionable features that directly address customer requirements. You will also be involved in the technical writing process, contributing to proposals, conducting exploratory code experiments, and building functional prototypes to validate innovative concepts.
• • Beyond feature development, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical and process improvements across the team. Your insights will be invaluable in influencing the direction of our product development and the methodologies we employ. You will contribute to enhancing our Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, streamlining deployment processes, and simplifying system administration. While you excel in backend development, you are also proficient in building frontend components. A commitment to lifelong learning and continuous skill development is essential for this role.
