📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer at Perceptyx, you will be at the forefront of innovation, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our AI-powered continuous listening platform. This is not just another engineering role; it's an opportunity to be a senior individual contributor with significant organizational impact, influencing how we build software in an increasingly AI-driven world. You will be instrumental in guiding Perceptyx through the rapid evolution of AI-assisted development, coaching your peers, and elevating the technical bar across our engineering teams.
• Your primary focus will be on leading and multiplying the team's capabilities. You will act as a senior technical leader within the Platform team, mentoring engineers and championing modern software engineering practices. This includes fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, particularly around AI-first development methodologies. You'll be a go-to resource for best practices, helping to scale our collective knowledge and expertise.
• A key aspect of this role is to champion the adoption and effective use of AI-assisted development tools. As AI tools for coding, testing, and delivery rapidly evolve, you will guide the team on how to leverage these technologies safely and efficiently. This involves understanding the nuances of prompt design, validating AI-generated code, and establishing best practices to ensure quality and security.
• You will be deeply involved in architecting and building scalable, high-performance systems. This involves designing, developing, and evolving both frontend and backend components of our platform using a modern full-stack approach. Your contributions will directly impact the robustness and efficiency of our core product, ensuring it can handle the demands of our growing enterprise client base.
• Leading by example in quality and reliability is paramount. You will embody clean code principles, conduct thoughtful code reviews, advocate for test-driven development (TDD), and maintain strong operational discipline in production environments. Your commitment to excellence will set a high standard for the entire team.
• Scaling and optimizing our platform will be a continuous effort. You will proactively anticipate performance and scaling challenges, leveraging monitoring and observability tools to identify bottlenecks and drive data-informed continuous improvement initiatives. This ensures our platform remains performant and reliable as our user base and data volume grow.
• Collaboration and influence are critical to success. You will partner closely with Product and Design teams to deliver cohesive, user-centric solutions. Effectively communicating technical decisions, trade-offs, and architectural visions across different teams will be essential for alignment and successful project execution.
• This role requires a forward-thinking mindset, embracing new technologies and methodologies to keep Perceptyx at the cutting edge of employee experience solutions. You will contribute to strategic technical discussions, helping to define the long-term roadmap for our platform.
• You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance our development processes, introducing automation where possible, and ensuring our engineering practices are efficient and effective. This includes staying abreast of industry trends and evaluating new tools and technologies that can benefit the team.
• Ultimately, you will be a key driver of technical excellence, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment where engineers can thrive and deliver exceptional results. Your leadership will directly contribute to Perceptyx's mission of helping organizations understand and improve their employee experience through powerful, AI-driven insights.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including system design, development, and testing of scalable, database-driven applications.
• Proficiency in backend development using Go, Python, or C++.
• Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue), including HTML, CSS, and build tooling.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and a clear understanding of their effective and safe application.
• Familiarity with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, and experience working across Linux, macOS, and Windows environments.
• A passion for technical leadership, coaching, and elevating other engineers through modern software engineering practices.
