- • Architect, build and ship production-grade services that power real-time personalization, campaign orchestration and cross-channel analytics for Fortune-500 brands. You will own features end-to-end—from whiteboard sketches to globally distributed deployment—while mentoring engineers who look to you for technical vision.
- • Lead the evolution of our event-streaming platform that ingests 20 B+ behavioral signals per month, applying stream-processing (Kafka, Flink) and low-latency storage (ClickHouse, DynamoDB) so that marketers see insights within seconds, not hours.
- • Translate product strategy into technical roadmaps that balance speed, scale and craft. You will negotiate scope with PMs, estimate effort in story points, sequence work across squads and communicate trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in plain English.
- • Champion a culture of automated quality: write unit/integration/contract tests, define SLOs, instrument observability (OpenTelemetry, Grafana) and participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation that keeps our 99.99 % availability record intact.
- • Pair with PhD data scientists to productize machine-learning models—containerizing Python micro-services, tuning GPU inference latency, building feature stores and ensuring ethical, privacy-safe usage of consumer data under GDPR/CCPA.
- • Modernize legacy monoliths into cloud-native, domain-driven micro-services on AWS (EKS, Lambda, EventBridge) while maintaining zero-downtime migrations and cost efficiency; expect to cut annual infra spend by double digits through spot fleets and auto-scaling.
- • Contribute to our open-source footprint: publish reusable libraries, speak at meet-ups and represent Known at conferences—because thought leadership attracts the best talent and clients.
- • Foster inclusive engineering rituals—blameless post-mortems, inclusive code reviews, mentorship circles—so that every teammate, regardless of background, can turn creative ambition into reliable software that shapes culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years shipping scalable backend services (Java, Kotlin, Go or Node) with deep fluency in distributed systems, data modeling and REST/GraphQL API design.
- • Production experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK) and CI/CD pipelines that deploy multiple times per day.
- • Demonstrated ability to tune high-throughput data stores (Postgres, ClickHouse, Redis) and streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis) for sub-second latency at 10k+ msgs/sec.
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on ML engineering—feature engineering, model deployment, TFX or Kubeflow—and familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
