  • • As a Senior Software Engineer at Twilio, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of communications by contributing to the development of best-in-class Twilio SDKs and a sophisticated GraphQL layer. This is a unique opportunity to work on core products that empower millions of developers worldwide to craft personalized customer experiences and build innovative Contact Center UIs and real-time AI Contact Center products.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain large-scale backend services, with an unwavering focus on reliability, availability, scalability, and performance. You will be instrumental in ensuring that Twilio's services are robust and can handle the demands of a rapidly growing global customer base.
  • • You will take the lead in technical design efforts, ensuring that architectural decisions are not only sound and well-documented but also future-proof, anticipating the evolving needs of the business and its developers.
  • • Collaboration is key to success at Twilio. You will work closely with a talented team of senior engineers, product managers, and various cross-functional stakeholders, fostering a shared vision and driving projects to completion.
  • • A strong commitment to high-quality engineering practices is expected. This includes championing automated testing, writing maintainable code, and producing thorough documentation to ensure the longevity and understandability of our systems.
  • • You will be a key owner of Twilio’s developer experience, continuously seeking ways to improve and enhance the SDKs that our customers rely on. This involves understanding their needs and translating them into tangible product improvements.
  • • Supporting our customers is paramount. You will assist by troubleshooting complex issues, providing expert guidance, and promoting backend and SDK best practices to ensure our users can leverage Twilio's capabilities effectively.

You will be central to creating a core product that provides significant leverage to all of Twilio’s Flex Contact Center and engineering teams, enabling them to deliver advanced features and innovative solutions.
  • • You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise in reliability, maintainability, and best practices, thereby fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth within the team.
  • • The position requires a deep understanding of distributed systems and concurrency, enabling you to tackle complex challenges in a cloud-native environment.

  • • The role involves occasional travel for project or team in-person meetings, providing opportunities to build stronger relationships and foster collaboration.
  • • You will be encouraged to embrace Twilio Magic, our set of values that guides our actions and interactions, promoting initiative, collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • • This is an opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic and supportive environment, where your contributions are recognized and valued, and where you have the autonomy to shape your own professional development.
