• • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the Confluent Cloud Platform, which is built upon the robust foundation of Apache Kafka. This platform is the premier Cloud Native Platform as a Service for streaming data infrastructure, and its evolution is continuous. You will contribute to building a PaaS that empowers customers globally to develop and deploy sophisticated streaming applications.
• • Your core responsibilities will involve the design, implementation, and meticulous maintenance of Golang infrastructure services. These services are typically architected as Kubernetes operators, designed to deliver the foundational elements of Confluent Cloud to our broader engineering organization. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure and the ability to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable software solutions.
• • A strong command of essential infrastructure tools and technologies is expected. This includes proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code, Datadog and Prometheus for monitoring and observability, and a solid grasp of Linux operating systems, public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and networking principles. While these are crucial, your primary focus will be on Golang software engineering, leveraging your expertise to build and enhance our core platform services.
• • You will collaborate closely with a talented team of Confluent engineers, contributing directly to the development of our PaaS product. This collaborative environment ensures that knowledge is shared, and best practices are consistently applied across the team.
• • The team, including yourself, will bear the ultimate responsibility for the availability, performance, comprehensive monitoring, rapid emergency response, and strategic capacity planning of the Confluent Cloud. This holistic ownership ensures the reliability and scalability of our platform, which is critical for our customers' success.
