• • Core & Main LP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their team remotely in Texas. As a leader in advancing reliable infrastructure, Core & Main specializes in the distribution of water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection products and services. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, testing, and debugging applications that support the company's mission and operational excellence. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to enhancing and maintaining software applications, providing expert subject matter expertise, and driving development leadership within a specific functional area, module, or project.
• • In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to conduct thorough application functionality gap analyses and feasibility studies. This involves understanding business needs and translating them into technical requirements and solutions. You will be responsible for leading development activities, ensuring that technical designs and specifications are meticulously documented and align with both business and functional requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust tools and applications, ensuring they possess sufficient controls and adhere to best practices.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves performing comprehensive unit testing before code moves to the QA process. You will also be tasked with evaluating and researching upgrades, patches, and new functionalities to keep our systems current and efficient. A key responsibility is to research defects, identify their root causes, and implement effective solutions to ensure application stability and performance. Furthermore, you will assist in the development and definition of test plans and scripts for performance, regression, and user acceptance testing, providing essential support to QA activities.
• • The Senior Software Engineer will also be involved in building and maintaining critical components such as templates, rules, style sheets, workflows, data extractions and imports, interfaces, and object models. A strong understanding of security protocols is essential, and you will be responsible for analyzing applications to ensure compliance with these protocols. To foster team growth and knowledge sharing, you will train team members on areas of your expertise and actively participate in and lead peer reviews, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• • This role demands a deep understanding of application architecture and the ability to design and implement well-structured, modular, and maintainable solutions. You will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, making sound decisions even under conditions of uncertainty or with incomplete information. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software. • • The position requires at least 8 years of development experience, with a strong emphasis on .NET frameworks, C#, TypeScript, and Angular. Experience with Azure Cloud services, including App Service, Function Apps, Key Vault, and Service Bus, is highly preferred. Familiarity with configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps is a significant advantage. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to independently perform assignments with limited supervision, determining and developing your own approach to solutions. You will receive technical guidance only on unusual or complex issues, empowering you to take ownership of your work. While not having direct hiring or firing authority, you may oversee project completion, contributing to the professional development of team members.
