Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Build and modernize a legacy .NET and SQL Server healthcare payment integrity platform using AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex to accelerate framework upgrades, API extraction, test scaffolding, and documentation generation while catching AI hallucinations and preventing regressions.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of modernized features, from modular Angular frontends (including micro frontend strategies) to resilient .NET microservices, working closely with product, UX, DevOps, and QA teams to ship high-quality, customer-centric functionality at scale.
- • Upgrade legacy services to current .NET LTS versions, untangling architectural boundaries and resolving long-standing performance bottlenecks in data-heavy systems.
- • Design and implement clean, versioned, RESTful APIs that prioritize correctness, maintainability, and scalability over quick fixes, ensuring systems are built for long-term reliability.
- • Optimize SQL Server performance through query tuning, indexing, transactional integrity, and schema improvements, addressing historical data pipeline issues and contributing to the design of event-driven architectures using tools like Kafka when needed.
- • Establish and document reusable engineering playbooks for AI-assisted development, including prompt templates, repo-level agent instructions, migration checklists, review heuristics, and clear definitions of done for AI-generated code changes.
- • Implement robust quality guardrails: automated testing suites that catch regressions, CI/CD pipelines that block faulty changes, structured logging, and observability systems that enable proactive issue detection before user impact.
- • Champion security and privacy by design in a regulated healthcare environment, enforcing least privilege access, safe data handling, and compliance with HI-TRUST and SOC2 standards.
- • Conduct thoughtful code reviews, lead architectural discussions, and raise engineering standards without ego, fostering a culture of accountability, clarity, and continuous improvement.
- • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate complex business problems in healthcare payments into practical, working software solutions that solve real-world inefficiencies.
- • Create predictable, pragmatic delivery plans that balance ideal outcomes with real-world constraints, ensuring customer onboarding milestones are met and features ship with confidence.
- • Increase measurable team velocity: achieve higher modules migrated per sprint, faster PR turnarounds, growing automated test coverage, and reduced production incidents without introducing new bugs.
- • Reduce legacy system surface area sprint-over-sprint, eliminating recurring "oh, that’s still in the old system" dependencies and ensuring critical paths run on modern, maintainable code.
- • Drive adoption of agent-friendly engineering practices: breaking work into AI-suitable tasks, setting up CI guardrails for AI-generated code, implementing feature flags, and enabling canary deployments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years building and shipping production systems with real users, not side projects
- • Strong C# and modern .NET experience (Core and beyond), including meaningful refactoring and migration work in large codebases
- • Proven SQL Server expertise: schema design, query tuning, performance troubleshooting in data-heavy applications
- • Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS (Azure preferred)
- • API design experience with service-oriented architectures, including versioning, auth, reliability, and testing
- • Daily, practical use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar) for multi-file refactors, migrations, test generation, and review workflows
🏖️ Benefits
- • Base salary range of $125,241.00 - $187,862.00 USD
- • Equal Opportunity Employer with commitment to inclusive environment and collaborative success
- • Work on a platform recognized as 2025 Best in KLAS for Pre-Payment Accuracy and Integrity
- • Opportunity to contribute to a HI-TRUST and SOC2 certified healthcare technology product
