Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the future of software development by orchestrating a fleet of AI agents to ship production-grade code at Gravity, the fastest-growing carbon and energy management platform trusted by Fortune 500 industrial, finance, consumer, and technology giants.
- • Spend your day where human judgment matters most—crafting system prompts, refining agent skills, and coaching autonomous code generators—while the agents handle boilerplate, tests, and refactors under your architectural guidance.
- • Drive a hybrid IC/manager model: you remain accountable for every merged PR, but your IDE time is spent reading, polishing, and steering rather than typing thousands of lines; mastery of tools like Claude Code Opus 4.5 and Conductor is part of the craft, not a gimmick.
- • Build the “factory” that compounds our velocity: design automated verification loops so agents can self-review, create domain-specific skills that map our carbon-accounting data model into reusable code patterns, and evolve the harness until every new feature is 80 % agent-authored and 100 % human-approved.
- • Act as our technology radar—when the next watershed moment arrives (think GPT-5 or an open-source breakthrough), you evaluate, prototype, and roll it out before competitors know it exists, turning breakthroughs into business advantage within days, not quarters.
- • Translate your frontline experience with agentic development into customer-facing power-ups for the Gravity Agent, ensuring that the same automation that accelerates our roadmap also helps clients slash reporting time and uncover million-dollar energy savings.
- • Work on a codebase engineered for leverage: a modular monolith in Go, Postgres-backed, React TypeScript front end, fully Dockerized, API-first, statically typed end-to-end, and state stored in very few places—decisions that keep the team small, the impact huge, and the agents effective.
- • Collaborate with a senior, full-stack team that prizes agency, urgency, and customer obsession; code review is optional, quality is mandatory, and every engineer can trace their commit to a measurable reduction in global emissions.
- • Contribute to a 30× revenue growth trajectory over three years by shipping features that automate ever-larger swaths of carbon accounting—freeing human analysts to focus on strategy while our agents crunch the numbers.
- • Shape a culture where craft meets speed: we believe great software emerges from rapid, taste-driven delivery, not heavyweight process, and we back that belief with equity, autonomy, and a mandate to delete tech debt on sight.
- • Engage directly with customers during Q2 R&D trips (Zion 2026 is already booked) to see how the code you coach into existence helps CFOs navigate an unstable energy landscape where AI demand is pushing dirty generation back up even as solar undercuts gas.
- • Enjoy the rare intersection of climate impact and cutting-edge AI: every optimization you ship not only lowers cloud bills but also prevents literal tons of CO₂, turning elegant code into measurable planetary good.
- • Report to a cofounder whose great-uncle started the EPA, work above Café Zoetrope in Jackson Square SF when you choose to be on-site, and belong to a team that skews comically high for yoga instructors and volleyball players—tight hamstrings welcome.
