As a Senior Software Engineer on this 0→1 engineering group, you will play a critical role in dramatically increasing our internal speed of execution through advanced automation, intelligent inference, and sophisticated workflow orchestration.

• The Agent Systems team operates at the exciting intersection of Artificial Intelligence, robust backend systems, and applied product engineering. The work is dynamic and fast-paced, demanding a blend of rapid prototyping and a high bar for production reliability. You will be expected to move fluidly between experimentation and shipping production-ready code, building intelligent systems that can reason over user interactions and take meaningful actions across our diverse internal tools and platforms.
• Your responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI-powered agent systems. This includes designing, building, and shipping these agents to automate complex internal workflows and decision paths. You will architect and implement sophisticated inference pipelines capable of reasoning over user interactions across various internal systems, extracting valuable insights, and driving automated actions.
• A key aspect of this role involves rapid prototyping to quickly validate agent behaviors and potential use cases. Once a prototype proves its value, you will be responsible for productionizing it, ensuring it meets our high standards for reliability, scalability, and maintainability. This requires a strong ability to transition seamlessly from experimental code to robust, production-grade architecture.
• You will architect and develop scalable backend services that seamlessly integrate with multiple internal APIs and diverse data sources. This involves understanding complex system interdependencies and ensuring data integrity and efficient communication between different components.
• A significant part of your contribution will be defining and implementing best practices for safe, observable, and controllable agent execution. This includes developing strategies for monitoring agent performance, debugging issues, and ensuring ethical and secure operation within our ecosystem.
• Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional partners across product, infrastructure, and internal operations teams to identify high-leverage automation opportunities and deploy agent-driven capabilities that compound leverage across the entire organization.
• You will be instrumental in improving the overall system speed, reliability, and signal quality as the usage of these agent systems scales. This requires a proactive approach to performance optimization and capacity planning.
• Furthermore, you will contribute to the foundational design decisions for a new, 0→1 agent platform. This means you will have a significant impact on shaping the future architecture and capabilities of our internal AI tooling, setting the stage for future innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software systems, demonstrating a track record of delivering reliable and scalable solutions.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including deep understanding of APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, and a commitment to system reliability.
• Hands-on experience working with AI/ML systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), or inference pipelines in a production environment.
• Ability to prototype rapidly while maintaining a clear and actionable path to production-grade architecture, balancing speed with long-term maintainability.
• Strong systems thinking capabilities, with the ability to reason about complex orchestration, potential failure modes, and effective observability strategies.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, 0→1 environments with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
