đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Software Engineer on HackerOne’s AI Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to revolutionize offensive security by integrating human ingenuity with artificial intelligence. You will help build and scale the next-generation AI security agent, Hai, and related capabilities that empower organizations to proactively detect, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities across code, cloud, and AI systems. Your work will directly contribute to reducing cyber risk for industry-leading clients such as Goldman Sachs, Uber, and the U.S. Department of Defense, reinforcing HackerOne’s position as a trusted leader in AI-driven cybersecurity.
- • You will design and implement core components of the AI Platform, including agentic AI orchestration, memory systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and long-horizon task execution using LLMs, ensuring seamless integration into the HackerOne platform. This involves evolving the cloud-based execution of the Hai agent to deliver natural language security insights, improved reasoning, and secure automated workflows. You will also develop features for AI red teaming agents and evaluation tools that identify risks in LLMs and applied AI systems, supporting safer model development and deployment.
- • Collaboration is central to this role: you will work closely with Product, Security Research, and Customer Success teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements and deliverables. You will build and maintain secure APIs that enable interaction between AI models, internal services, and third-party systems, adapting quickly to changing requirements. Your contributions will be guided by HackerOne’s Talent Principles—AI-First, Change Agility, Data-Driven Decision Making, and First Principles Problem Solving—ensuring solutions are both innovative and grounded in measurable outcomes.
- • You will leverage metrics, evaluation data, and telemetry to validate model behavior, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement. By breaking down complex AI and security challenges into fundamental components, you will design scalable, maintainable solutions that balance sophistication with usability. Additionally, you will stay current with emerging trends in AI security, sharing insights with the team to inform strategy and implementation.
- • HackerOne fosters a culture of inclusion, transparency, and empowerment, where employees are encouraged to Win Together through respect, accountability, and shared success. The company values Customer Obsession and Default to Disclosure, operating with integrity to build trust across its ecosystem of researchers, customers, and partners. This role offers the opportunity to grow technically and professionally while contributing to meaningful work that strengthens global digital resilience.
- • The position follows a Flexible Work model, requiring one day per week onsite (typically Thursdays) for employees within ~50 miles of Seattle, WA or Austin, TX. This balance supports both collaboration and the autonomy of remote work, enabling strong team connections without sacrificing flexibility. You will join a mission-driven organization recognized as a Most Loved Workplace for Young Professionals (2024) and featured in Gartner’s Emerging Tech Impact Radar for AI Cybersecurity Ecosystem.
