• • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Consumer Engineering Test Infrastructure (CETI) team at Coinbase, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of product quality for our rapidly growing consumer-facing products. Your mission will be to empower our engineering teams with world-class testing tools, frameworks, and infrastructure, ensuring seamless development workflows and the highest standards of product reliability.
• • You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, high-performance, and scalable automated test frameworks and tools. These systems will be deeply integrated into our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, forming the backbone of our quality assurance processes.
• • A core aspect of your role will involve collaborating closely with a diverse range of engineering teams across the company. You will actively seek to understand their unique challenges and pain points related to testing, and then translate these insights into practical, innovative solutions.
• • You will be a champion for best practices in software testing, advocating for and driving the adoption of effective strategies across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Your efforts will foster a strong culture of quality without compromising development velocity, ensuring that we can ship features rapidly and with confidence.
• • A significant part of your contribution will be focused on optimizing our CI/CD pipelines. This includes ensuring the most efficient, rapid, and reliable execution of tests, minimizing feedback loops for developers and enabling faster iteration cycles.
• • You will also be responsible for enhancing the observability of our testing infrastructure. This involves building comprehensive dashboards and providing actionable insights that empower engineering teams to effectively track, diagnose, and improve the quality and performance of their tests.
• • Collaboration with platform, infrastructure, Customer Experience (CX), consumer product, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams will be crucial. Together, you will work to ensure that our test environments are stable, scalable, and accurately reflect production conditions, providing a reliable foundation for testing.
• • You will have the opportunity to explore and evaluate emerging testing technologies across web, mobile, AI/ML, and backend domains. Identifying and integrating these cutting-edge tools into our ecosystem will be key to staying ahead of the curve and continuously improving our testing capabilities.
• • This role requires a strong technical foundation in software engineering, with proven experience in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar. You should possess a deep understanding of software development principles and best practices.
• • Familiarity with infrastructure technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform, along with experience in major cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), is essential for building and managing scalable testing solutions.
• • A passion for developer experience is paramount. You should have a track record of building scalable developer tools and a genuine desire to improve developer productivity and streamline workflows.
• • Experience with observability, debugging, and profiling techniques is necessary to enhance software reliability and performance. You should be adept at identifying and resolving complex issues within distributed systems.
• • The ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and influence positive changes in engineering culture is a critical soft skill for this role. You will need to communicate technical concepts clearly and build consensus among stakeholders.
