We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Identity organization, the engineering powerhouse responsible for the very heart of the Auth0 application. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical services that handle millions of daily logins worldwide, ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of our global identity platform.
• As a Senior Software Engineer in Core Identity, you will be at the forefront of tackling complex distributed systems challenges at a global scale. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating the fundamental services that form the backbone of Auth0’s identity platform. Your contributions will directly impact how organizations and individuals securely innovate and interact online.
• Your primary technical focus will be on our robust NodeJS backend, utilizing TypeScript and JavaScript. You will work with a sophisticated data infrastructure, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, all deployed across a multi-cloud environment encompassing AWS and Azure. This role demands a passion for simplifying intricate problems and a dedication to building resilient, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
• You will become an integral part of a fast-paced, agile, and globally distributed team, collaborating with talented engineers and cross-functional partners. This includes working closely with Product, Security, Design, Architecture, and QA teams to deliver innovative features that not only meet but exceed customer expectations.
• A key aspect of this role involves taking ownership of the technical quality, security, reliability, and scalability of our core systems. You will be a champion for architectural improvements, driving best practices and ensuring the long-term health and efficiency of our platform. This includes actively participating in an on-call rotation to guarantee the continuous availability and performance of our critical services.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent, with a strong focus on backend services.
• Proficiency in building backend services with Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript).
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• A strong commitment to quality, with experience in various testing strategies (e.g., unit, integration, end-to-end).
• A product-oriented mindset, with the ability to understand customer needs and work collaboratively to find effective solutions.
• Experience with or a strong interest in Identity and Access Management (IAM) is highly valued.
