Senior Software Engineer - Dialer Team

📋 Description

• • Own end-to-end development of critical product features for Orum’s Dialer Team, from concept and discovery through deployment and iterative improvement.
• • Design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems (70% of role) that power real-time, high-volume outbound calling workflows, including SIP-based call routing and parallel dialing across distributed systems.
• • Develop frontend components (30% of role) using React and TypeScript to deliver intuitive, low-latency user experiences that interact with real-time call data and audio streams.
• • Build and maintain systems utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, Ruby, PostgreSQL, and FreeSWITCH to support millions of daily outbound calls with millisecond-level precision impacting connect rates.
• • Process and analyze real-time audio streams to enable AI-driven intelligence for improving call outcomes, including integration with speech recognition and conversation analytics.
• • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to shape product roadmaps, ensuring engineering insights directly influence feature priorities and user experience design.
• • Drive technical excellence by establishing and upholding coding standards that ensure codebase maintainability, scalability, and testability across a high-traffic production environment.
• • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture.
• • Optimize call routing logic and distributed systems for reliability, fault tolerance, and scalability under peak load conditions.
• • Contribute to the evolution of Orum’s real-time communication infrastructure, including event-driven architectures and SIP Softswitch integrations.
• • Ensure all systems comply with performance benchmarks for latency, uptime, and call success rates critical to customer revenue outcomes.
• • Participate in on-call rotations to maintain system stability and rapidly respond to incidents affecting call delivery or audio quality.
• • Contribute to infrastructure decisions on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring cost-efficient, secure, and resilient deployment of dialing and audio processing services.
• • Embed AI-driven enhancements into the dialer platform to dynamically adjust call strategies, prioritize leads, and improve overall connection efficiency.
• • Document technical designs, system architectures, and operational procedures to enable team-wide understanding and knowledge transfer.
• • Advocate for clean, simple, and well-tested code as a core engineering value, with emphasis on maintainability over short-term expediency.
• • Engage in cross-functional discovery sessions to translate business goals into technical requirements for dialer features with measurable impact on sales team productivity.
