- • As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in EHR/EMR Integrations at Heidi Health, you will be at the forefront of connecting our revolutionary AI Care Partner with healthcare systems across the UK and Ireland. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust integrations that seamlessly embed our technology into the daily workflows of clinicians, ensuring continuity of care and enhancing the human element in healthcare delivery.
- • You will be a key architect in bridging the gap between advanced AI capabilities and the intricate landscape of electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR). Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that Heidi's AI-powered tools, such as medical speech transcription and intelligent note generation, are not just functional but are intuitively integrated into the clinical environment, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on patient care.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve building and maintaining these critical integrations, adhering strictly to established healthcare interoperability standards. This includes a deep understanding and practical application of protocols like HL7 (Health Level Seven), FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), and SMART on FHIR. These standards are the backbone of modern healthcare data exchange, and your proficiency will ensure secure, efficient, and compliant data flow.
- • You will collaborate closely with our talented AI/ML team, translating their cutting-edge developments into practical applications within clinical settings. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for bringing the benefits of AI directly to the point of care, making complex technology accessible and useful for clinicians.
- • Your work will extend to the core APIs and distributed systems that power Heidi's platform. You will be responsible for ensuring these systems are not only performant and scalable to handle a growing global user base but also exceptionally secure, given the sensitive nature of healthcare data.
- • A core objective will be to continuously improve the reliability and accuracy of our medical documentation pipelines. This involves meticulous testing, debugging, and optimization to ensure that the information captured and processed by Heidi is precise and dependable, building trust with our users.
- • You will act as a champion for best practices in software engineering, particularly within the highly regulated and sensitive healthcare domain. This includes advocating for robust coding standards, comprehensive testing strategies, secure development lifecycles, and maintainable system architectures.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of clinical workflows. By ensuring seamless integration, you will directly contribute to Heidi's mission of giving back millions of hours to healthcare professionals and supporting millions of patient visits worldwide.
- • You will be instrumental in scaling Heidi's operations internationally, particularly in the UK and Ireland, by establishing and refining our integration capabilities.
- • You will engage with various stakeholders, including product managers, clinical advisors, and potentially external healthcare system administrators, to understand integration requirements and challenges.
- • You will contribute to the technical roadmap for integrations, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements.
- • You will troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, often under pressure, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
- • You will participate in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
- • The impact of your work will be tangible, directly affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare providers and, ultimately, the quality of patient care. You will be part of a company that has already demonstrated significant global reach and is backed by substantial funding, poised for further rapid growth.
- • You will be working with a product that has proven momentum, having already given back over 18 million hours to healthcare professionals and supporting millions of patient visits weekly across 116 countries. This is your chance to join a fast-growing startup with a clear vision and a product that is making a real difference.
- • Your contributions will be vital in shaping how AI is adopted and utilized at the point of care, making healthcare more efficient, accurate, and human-centric.
🎯 Requirements

- • Prior experience integrating with healthcare systems (e.g., Cliniko, Halaxy, MediRecords, Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, Meditech).
- • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR).
- • Proficiency in a prominent programming language such as Python, C++, Rust, C#, Java, Javascript, Typescript, with experience building APIs and backend services (preferably with FastAPI).
- • Experience working with datastores such as MongoDB and Redis.
- • Experience with integration design, including RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), and event-driven systems.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Equity from day one, sharing directly in the company's success.
- • Personal development budget for continuous learning and growth.
- • Dedicated wellness days and subsidised gym membership to support employee well-being.
