📋 Description

• Klaviyo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Email Platforms team. This is a pivotal role where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our email delivery infrastructure, ensuring it can reliably and performantly handle the demands of our rapidly growing customer base, including major enterprise clients. You will be at the forefront of building the next generation of systems that power Klaviyo's core email sending capabilities, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the company's success.
• As a Senior Software Engineer on the Email Platforms team, you will take ownership of critical components within our email pipeline architecture. This involves not just implementing solutions but also deeply understanding the system's intricacies and driving its evolution. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-throughput services primarily written in Go, a language renowned for its concurrency and performance, making it ideal for high-scale backend systems.
• Your work will focus on building robust systems that manage message queues, orchestrate email delivery processes, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our entire email sending pipeline. This includes tackling complex challenges related to distributed systems, high-volume message processing, and optimizing service performance under heavy load. You will play a key role in ensuring our infrastructure scales seamlessly with our customer growth, particularly as we onboard and support larger, more demanding enterprise accounts.
• Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and operations to ensure our systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and deliverability. This cross-functional partnership is essential for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of our email services.
• A significant aspect of this role involves embracing and integrating AI technologies. 🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer with strong systems design capabilities.
• Proficiency in Go (Golang) is essential; experience with Python is a significant plus.
• Demonstrated experience working with high-throughput, distributed systems.
• Familiarity with message queue technologies such as Pulsar, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Experience with AI tools and workflows, with a demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply them responsibly in a professional setting.
