- • Design and execute platform-level software projects from conception through launch, collaborating with senior engineers across the organization to enhance Abnormal’s Customer, End User, and Demo portals.
- • Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power portal experiences using Python (Django) or TypeScript.
- • Develop reusable frontend libraries, design systems, and developer tooling to accelerate feature delivery across product teams using React and modern frontend architecture.
- • Own infrastructure concerns including CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability for all portal applications to ensure enterprise-grade stability and security.
- • Drive frontend performance, accessibility, and quality standards across portal applications to deliver consistent, high-quality user experiences.
- • Raise the bar of engineering excellence by actively contributing to knowledge sharing, code reviews, documentation, and professional development initiatives.
- • Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, feedback, and support to elevate team capabilities and foster growth.
- • Influence technical direction through RFCs, architecture decisions, and platform migrations that align with organizational goals and scalability needs.
- • Balance technical debt with feature delivery at the platform level to ensure sustainable, long-term system health.
- • Enable application teams to easily develop and deploy frontend components by leveraging AI-driven workflows and standardized tooling.
- • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to support the Demo portal as a critical tool for showcasing product capabilities to potential customers.
- • Maintain and improve the security, usability, and reliability of enterprise-grade portal systems serving both customers and end users.
- • Operate production systems with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and performance.
- • Apply strong fundamentals in computer science, data structures, and performance optimization to solve complex engineering challenges.
- • Communicate clearly and proactively in distributed, async environments through written documentation, design reviews, and team alignment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-team projects end-to-end
- • Deep expertise in React and modern frontend architecture (state management, performance tuning, build tooling, design systems)
- • Strong backend proficiency in Python (Django) or TypeScript, with experience designing APIs and data models for scale
- • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD) and comfort operating production systems
- • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction — you've driven RFCs, architecture decisions, or platform migrations
- • Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing
- • Strong communication skills, especially in distributed/async environments — you write clearly and proactively
- • Proven ability to balance technical debt with feature delivery at the platform level
- • Strong fundamentals in computer science, data structures, and performance optimization
- • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
