  • • Join Olo Inc., a trailblazer in the restaurant technology sector, as a Senior Software Engineer on our dynamic 'In-Store' team. We are revolutionizing how restaurants connect with their guests through a leading SaaS platform that accelerates digital transformation, enabling personalized and profitable guest experiences. Our solutions empower brands to enhance efficiency, reduce operational burdens, and cultivate a sense of familiarity for every customer, making them feel like regulars.
  • • Olo is making a significant, long-term investment in Belfast and Northern Ireland, establishing it as a crucial hub for our operations. We have a dedicated local leadership team and a growing community of talented professionals. This Senior Software Engineer position is fully remote, offering you the flexibility to work from any location within Northern Ireland, blending professional growth with personal convenience.
  • • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of the 'Order' engineering group, specifically contributing to the 'In-Store' squad. This team is at the forefront of developing and refining the critical integrations that connect Olo's platform with a diverse array of new and existing Point of Sale (POS) partners and systems. Your work will directly impact the seamless flow of customer orders through the entire Olo ecosystem.
  • • The primary focus of the 'In-Store' team is to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and performance of these vital integrations. We place a strong emphasis on revenue generation by meticulously monitoring and driving key Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring maximum uptime, and optimizing the overall performance of our connections with external partners. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the high standards our clients expect and depend on.
  • • This role is ideally suited for an engineer with a proven track record in the POS domain or for individuals who have extensive experience in building robust systems that integrate with complex external partner platforms. You will be joining a highly collaborative and experienced engineering team, comprising eight dedicated engineers within the 'In-Store' squad. This team is guided by a supportive and experienced Engineering Manager, fostering an environment of continuous learning and mutual support.
  • • In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and resilient software solutions that enhance our POS integration capabilities. You will tackle complex technical challenges, from architecting new integration frameworks to optimizing existing data pipelines and ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive transaction data.
  • • You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. This cross-functional collaboration is key to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the restaurant industry.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues that may arise within the integration layer. This requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, network protocols, and data exchange formats.
  • • You will also play a crucial role in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of the 'In-Store' team. Your expertise will help elevate the team's technical capabilities and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
  • • We encourage proactive problem-solving and expect you to identify opportunities for improvement in our systems, processes, and tooling. This includes exploring new technologies and methodologies that can enhance our development lifecycle and the quality of our product.
  • • The 'In-Store' team's work is fundamental to Olo's success, directly impacting our ability to serve millions of customers daily. By ensuring seamless order processing and reliable data exchange between restaurants and Olo, you will be contributing to a mission-critical part of our business.
  • • You will be expected to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices in software development. Emphasis will be placed on building robust, fault-tolerant systems that can handle high volumes of transactions and operate reliably under pressure.
  • • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, helping to shape the future of Olo's integration platform.
  • • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing new ideas and perspectives to the team.
  • • Champion best practices in software engineering, including testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
  • • Work with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of features and projects from inception to completion.
  • • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment on technical solutions.
  • • Drive improvements in system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • • Ensure the security and compliance of our systems, adhering to relevant data protection regulations.
  • • This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact in a rapidly growing company at the intersection of technology and the food service industry. If you are a passionate and skilled Senior Software Engineer looking to contribute to a product that touches millions of lives daily, we encourage you to apply.
