📋 Description

• Build and maintain Front’s cross-platform mobile application using React Native for both Android and iOS platforms
• Optimize performance of the mobile app by diving into native Android and iOS layers to expose and leverage platform-specific APIs
• Improve user experience by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, rendering issues, and latency in the React Native codebase
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert on React Native within the Client Platform team, providing guidance on best practices and architecture
• Collaborate closely with Electron and web engineering teams to ensure consistency and shared patterns across all client platforms
• Enable feature teams across Front to ship new functionality reliably across mobile platforms by maintaining a stable and extensible codebase
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers on React Native patterns, native bridge implementation, and mobile performance optimization
• Investigate and resolve complex bugs that span the React Native bridge, native modules, and JavaScript layers
• Evaluate and integrate third-party native libraries and SDKs to enhance mobile app capabilities while maintaining stability and security
• Participate in planning and prioritizing technical initiatives for the mobile platform, balancing feature development with long-term code health
• Advocate for pragmatic engineering solutions that prioritize reliability, maintainability, and user impact over theoretical idealism
• Work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment where cross-functional alignment and rapid iteration are critical to product success
• Contribute to defining and evolving mobile engineering standards, documentation, and onboarding processes for new team members
• Monitor app performance metrics and user feedback to drive data-informed improvements to the mobile client
• Ensure compatibility with evolving Android and iOS platform updates, including OS-level changes, deprecations, and new framework requirements
• Partner with product and design teams to translate user needs into technically sound mobile experiences that align with Front’s operational platform goals
• Maintain a deep understanding of React Native’s limitations and workarounds, while continuously exploring ways to extend its capabilities through native integration
