đź“‹ Description

  • • Deepgram is at the forefront of the burgeoning trillion-dollar Voice AI economy, empowering developers and organizations worldwide with real-time APIs for speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), and the creation of production-grade voice agents at scale. Our technology is the backbone for over 200,000 developers and more than 1,300 organizations, powering innovative voice solutions from industry leaders like Twilio, Cloudflare, and Jack in the Box. We offer unparalleled accuracy, low latency, and cost efficiency through cloud APIs, as well as self-hosted and on-premises software solutions. With a recent Series C funding round led by top global investors, Deepgram has processed over 50,000 years of audio and transcribed more than 1 trillion words, solidifying our position as the undisputed leader in voice understanding.
  • • At Deepgram, we operate with an AI-first mindset. The active use and experimentation with advanced AI tools are not optional; they are fundamental to how we innovate, operate, and measure success. Every team member is expected to leverage AI in their daily work, integrating it into workflows and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. We thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape, moving at the pace of AI. This role is ideal for individuals who are excited by constant experimentation, adaptation, and continuous learning, rather than those seeking a highly prescriptive, traditional work environment.
  • • This Senior Software Engineer, Mobile role is a critical part of the Saga team, Deepgram’s consumer-facing application. Saga is an innovative voice operating system designed for professionals, enabling them to control their tools, workflows, and environments using natural speech. It allows users to execute tasks hands-free through voice commands, seamlessly integrating with popular tools like Slack, Linear, and Notion. This significantly reduces context-switching and dramatically enhances productivity by bringing workflow control directly to the user's voice.
  • • On the backend, our services are architected around robust RESTful APIs, ensuring clear, predictable contracts for data access and integration. For real-time interactions, we utilize WebSockets to deliver low-latency updates and event-driven workflows, keeping clients synchronized efficiently without the need for constant polling. This architecture provides a stable and scalable foundation for our voice-powered applications.
  • • For the mobile frontend, we are committed to modern development practices. On iOS, we build with SwiftUI, leveraging Swift Package Manager (SPM) for efficient dependency management and modularity. We integrate seamlessly with our real-time backend using Socket.IO and structure our app architecture using The Composable Architecture (TCA) to ensure predictable state management, high testability, and long-term maintainability. Our Android application is developed using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, embracing modern declarative UI paradigms.
  • • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Saga team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our consumer-facing voice application. Your responsibilities will span across both iOS and Android development, working with Swift and Kotlin respectively. You will be instrumental in building sophisticated UI components using SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose, ensuring a consistent and intuitive user experience across platforms. A key aspect of this role involves designing and integrating APIs using REST, which are crucial for supporting flexible, scalable data access across our diverse services. You will have the opportunity to develop deep expertise in specific areas while maintaining the flexibility to dive into new and challenging parts of the codebase as needed. Your contributions will extend to participating actively in code reviews and architecture discussions, fostering a culture of clarity, curiosity, and shared ownership within the team. You will be responsible for translating high-level product requirements into actionable, parallelizable, and incrementally releasable tasks, ensuring efficient project execution. A critical part of your role will be to skillfully balance the delivery of short-term, impactful features with long-term strategic investments in efficiency, scalability, and overall performance of the Saga application. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and intuitive mobile user experiences, directly impacting how professionals interact with their digital tools.
  • • This role requires a proactive and adaptable engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will be a key contributor to a product that is redefining user interaction through voice, making it an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the future of AI and mobile development. Your work will directly influence the user experience of a product designed to boost productivity and streamline workflows for professionals globally. We are looking for someone who can not only build but also think critically about architecture, user experience, and the strategic direction of the product. This is a chance to make a significant impact on a product that is at the forefront of the voice AI revolution.
