• • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in the evolution and maintenance of our mission-critical Workflows Connectors, Actions, and Okta Integration Network (OIN) deployment tooling and pipelines. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing features that enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of our integration services. This includes developing and maintaining multi-stage environment rollouts, ensuring smooth and secure deployment processes.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and implementation to rigorous testing and ongoing maintenance. You will be expected to write comprehensive functional and unit tests, implement robust monitoring and alerting systems, and develop sophisticated Post-Deployment Verification (PDV) automation and roll-back tooling. This ensures that any deployment issues can be quickly identified and resolved, minimizing disruption and maintaining service integrity.
• • A key aspect of this role involves implementing continuous testing strategies, including PDVs and synthetic tests, to proactively monitor the health and performance of our mission-critical third-party integrations. You will work closely with metrics, alerting, and logging systems to gain deep insights into system behavior and identify potential issues before they impact users.
• • Collaboration is central to success at Okta. You will partner closely with our Product Development, Quality Assurance (QA), and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to effectively scope development and deployment work. This cross-functional collaboration ensures alignment on technical strategies and project goals, fostering a cohesive approach to building and maintaining our platform.
• • Beyond technical contributions, you will serve as a technical leader within the team, mentoring junior engineers on best practices, software engineering principles, and efficient development processes. Your experience and guidance will be invaluable in fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• • The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and the software development lifecycle. Experience building software systems and tooling for managing and deploying reliable and performant infrastructure and product code at scale on cloud infrastructure is highly desirable. You should be adept at API integrations (REST/SOAP/GraphQL) and have a proven track record of developing services, internal tools, and frameworks within cloud environments.
