- • Own end-to-end development of critical product features for Orum’s Product Platform Team, from initial concept and discovery through implementation, deployment, and iterative improvement.
- • Design and build scalable backend systems (70% of role) that power real-time, high-volume workflows including call routing via event-driven SIP Softswitch and processing audio streams for advanced speech recognition.
- • Develop frontend components (30% of role) using React and TypeScript to deliver seamless, high-performance user experiences in collaboration with Product Managers and Designers.
- • Build and maintain CRM integrations with Salesforce and Outreach, ensuring accurate and synchronized data flows between Orum’s platform and customer systems.
- • Lead the development of AI-powered prospect enrichment systems that combine internal and external data to create smarter, continuously improving prospect profiles.
- • Drive the architecture of foundational systems including identity and access management that serve as the backbone for all Orum products.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to shape product roadmaps and deliver intuitive, performant features with equal weight given to engineering, product, and design input.
- • Serve as a role model for engineering excellence by mentoring teammates, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture.
- • Define and uphold coding standards that ensure the codebase remains clean, maintainable, and scalable across a large, distributed engineering team.
- • Work with Node.js, TypeScript, React, Ruby, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH to deliver robust, production-grade solutions in a remote-first environment.
- • Contribute to system reliability and performance by implementing well-tested, simple, and maintainable code that supports millions in monthly new pipeline generation for Orum’s customers.
- • Ensure data accuracy and synchronization across customer systems by engineering data pipelines that support real-time call insights, AI coaching, and virtual sales floor functionality.
- • Participate in technical planning and architectural decisions that enable the platform to scale seamlessly as Orum grows its user base and product offerings.
- • Leverage deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL to solve complex engineering challenges related to voice communication, event-driven systems, and data enrichment.

- • Support the long-term technical health of the platform by prioritizing maintainability, test coverage, and clean architecture over short-term fixes.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience owning features or products through the full lifecycle from discovery to release to iteration
- • 6+ years of professional software development experience
- • 3+ years of experience building applications with JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Experience working with an RDBMS using SQL
- • Deep appreciation for simple, maintainable, and well-tested code
- • Experience with backend systems in a high-volume, real-time environment (e.g., SIP Softswitch, audio processing)
