As a Senior Software Engineer on our Payments & Blockchain team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our payment systems, ensuring the secure and efficient flow of digital and fiat currency in and out of the Kraken ecosystem.
• This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the core infrastructure that underpins every transaction on Kraken. You will be instrumental in building and enhancing the systems that connect Kraken to an ever-expanding network of payment providers, directly impacting the client experience and the integrity of our platform.
• Your primary focus will be on safeguarding client funds by developing robust systems that communicate seamlessly with various blockchains. This involves ensuring the timely processing of client transactions while upholding the highest standards of security and reliability for all assets on the exchange.
• You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of high-quality payment processing systems. This includes leveraging your expertise in React.js and other relevant modern web technologies to build scalable and performant solutions.
• A key aspect of this role involves building and refining seamless transaction experiences. You will optimize fund transfers for speed, security, and reliability, ensuring that our users can deposit and withdraw assets with confidence and ease.
• You will also contribute to developing an efficient and intuitive onboarding experience for users interacting with our payment systems. By reducing friction and improving trust, you will enhance user satisfaction and drive platform adoption.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in React Native, payments, and blockchain, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, tooling, and infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on web and mobile applications.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and proven proficiency with React Native frameworks.
• Strong experience in API design, security, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience in consumer payments, crypto, or fintech mobile applications.
• Available in EU afternoons.
