Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Join Collectly Inc., a rapidly growing Y Combinator alumni company backed by a recent $29M funding round from Sapphire Ventures, as a Senior Software Engineer. Our mission is to revolutionize the healthcare industry by empowering organizations to dedicate more time to patient care and less to administrative burdens like collections and tedious paperwork. We achieve this by fostering financial transparency for patients and delivering a modern, seamless patient experience from initial check-in through to billing.
  • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our innovative platform. You'll be instrumental in developing and enhancing features that directly impact our hundreds of clients and contribute to our accelerated growth. This is an opportunity to work on a product that has a tangible positive effect on healthcare providers and patients alike, streamlining complex financial processes and improving overall engagement.
  • You will be a key contributor to our engineering team, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate complex business requirements into elegant, scalable, and robust software solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in driving technical decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the highest standards of code quality and system performance.
  • Responsibilities will span the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. You will tackle challenging technical problems, architecting solutions that are not only functional but also maintainable and performant as our user base and feature set continue to expand.
  • Specifically, you will be involved in designing and building new features for our core platform, focusing on areas such as patient billing, payment processing, insurance verification, and patient communication. This includes developing APIs, integrating with third-party services, and optimizing database performance to handle large volumes of data efficiently.
  • You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our existing codebase, identifying and refactoring technical debt, and implementing best practices in areas like automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring. Your insights will be invaluable in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.
  • We encourage a proactive approach to problem-solving. You'll be expected to identify potential issues before they arise, propose innovative solutions, and take ownership of your work from start to finish. This includes participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers, and actively contributing to technical discussions.
  • Collaboration is at the heart of our engineering culture. You'll work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential.
  • This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth. You will have the chance to work with a modern technology stack, explore new tools and techniques, and contribute to a product that is making a real difference in the healthcare landscape. We are committed to fostering a learning environment where you can expand your skills and advance your career.
  • As a remote-first company, we value asynchronous communication and empower our team members to manage their schedules effectively. You will be part of a distributed team, working with colleagues across different time zones, and contributing to a culture of trust and autonomy. Your contributions will directly impact the success of Collectly and help us achieve our ambitious goals.
  • We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building high-quality software, solving complex problems, and making a positive impact. If you are a seasoned engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a mission-driven company, we encourage you to apply.
  • You will be instrumental in ensuring our platform remains secure, reliable, and scalable, meeting the evolving needs of healthcare providers and patients. This includes staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Your work will directly influence the user experience for both healthcare administrators and patients, making financial interactions in healthcare simpler, more transparent, and less stressful. This is a chance to be part of a company that is not just building software, but also improving healthcare outcomes.

🎯 Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong track record of designing, developing, and deploying complex software systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript) and a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases, and experience optimizing database performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to architect scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

🏖️ Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity options.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere within GMT-7 to GMT+4 time zones.
