📋 Description

• Work on core features of Fivetran’s data pipeline service to move data from various sources to data warehouses with canonical, ready-to-query formatting.
• Design, build, and maintain connectors that integrate with diverse source systems, ensuring reliable and scalable data ingestion.
• Write high-quality, production-grade Java code following established programming best practices and architectural standards.
• Independently design software architectures and subsystems to meet project requirements, ensuring scalability and reliability under strict SLAs.
• Lead technical initiatives across the team, coordinating development efforts among multiple engineers and driving end-to-end delivery of complex features.
• Review and approve technical designs and critical code changes to maintain system integrity and code quality.
• Mentor junior engineers, coach on coding standards, and improve overall team engineering quality through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in team on-call rotations to ensure system reliability, respond to incidents, and resolve production issues promptly.
• Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating new technologies and engineering approaches, including AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex.
• Accelerate development, testing, and incident resolution using AI-powered coding assistants to enhance productivity and reduce manual effort.
• Operate and optimize data pipelines on a global Kubernetes-based compute cluster, managing containerized services with Docker.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals and customer needs.
• Contribute to feature enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements across the entire data pipeline platform.
• Maintain deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), cloud APIs, and databases to support robust data movement and storage.
• Ensure technical excellence for owned services through proactive system monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience writing Java-based applications in production environments
• Experience designing and operating reliable distributed systems, particularly high-volume data management platforms under strict SLAs
• Expertise working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), cloud-based APIs, and databases
• Proven ability to design and own team-level subsystems and lead architectural initiatives
• Experience leading complex technical projects across multiple engineers
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex in software development workflows
