- • Are you a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with a passion for transforming complex data into actionable insights? Fleetio, a leader in modern fleet management software, is seeking a self-driven and product-minded engineer to join our Strategic Reporting & Tools team.
- • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing premium analytics and reporting solutions that empower our thousands of global users to make high-level strategic decisions about their fleet operations. You'll dive deep into data, uncovering trends and opportunities related to utilization strategy, right-sizing, and cost optimization, turning raw fleet data into clear, defensible guidance for fleet managers and leaders.
- • Your primary focus will be on the end-to-end delivery of high-quality, accurate, and performant reports, dashboards, and data insights. This involves not just building features, but also architecting and engineering the future of our data products, including our sophisticated analytics platform.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers, contributing to the design and architecture of new features. This includes taking part in planning, designing, and implementing solutions for our Reporting & Analytics web modules within the core Fleetio platform.
- • A key aspect of this role is working in tandem with our dedicated Data Team to implement robust solutions that effectively surface data and insights through our various data products. You will be a bridge between raw data and user-facing analytics.
- • We expect you to produce well-tested, maintainable, and performant code, adhering to best practices. This includes a commitment to thorough code reviews for your peers, ensuring code quality, maintaining consistency across the codebase, and fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
- • You will have the opportunity to research and implement prototypes and spikes to validate technical assumptions and explore feasibility, driving innovation within the team.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
- • Experience with ReactJS, TypeScript, and working with large data sets
- • Proven experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, including CTEs, and proficiency with ORMs like ActiveRecord/Arel
- • Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and data modeling, with expertise in optimizing query performance
- • Experience integrating 3rd-party tools and APIs, focusing on abstraction, maintainability, and user experience
- • Excellent written communication skills and a product-minded, team-oriented approach
