- • Join Collectly as a Senior Software Engineer and help re-imagine the financial backbone of U.S. healthcare. Every day, millions of patients struggle with opaque bills while providers drown in paperwork. You will own the technical direction of our pre-service platform, writing Python services that move billions of dollars in claims data through AI-driven workflows that cut days in AR from weeks to hours.
- • Architect and evolve our Python-first backend—FastAPI services, Postgres schemas, Celery task queues, and AWS infrastructure—so that new provider groups can be onboarded in minutes, not months. You’ll design APIs that power both internal staff dashboards and patient-facing React apps, ensuring sub-second response times even when traffic spikes 10× during open-enrollment season.
- • Ship features end-to-end: translate a one-line idea from the founder into technical specs, break it into milestones, write clean, test-covered code, instrument it with Datadog, deploy via GitHub Actions to Kubernetes, and watch real patients pay their first bill with one click instead of five phone calls.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, and clinicians in short, focused sprints. You’ll demo working software every Friday, gather feedback from front-office staff in Texas and CFOs in New York, and iterate before Monday morning so the change is already helping patients.
- • Champion engineering culture as we scale from 8 to 80 engineers. Introduce patterns like feature flags, blue-green deployments, and contract testing; run internal tech talks; and mentor junior teammates through pair programming and architecture reviews.
- • Tackle gnarly healthcare data problems: map 30-year-old EDI 837 claim formats to modern JSON, reconcile overlapping insurance eligibility responses, and surface plain-English cost estimates so a patient knows exactly what they’ll owe before they see the doctor.
- • Keep security and compliance front-of-mind. You’ll harden endpoints to meet HIPAA and SOC-2 controls, automate evidence collection for auditors, and still move fast because you’ve embedded policy checks into CI/CD.
- • Enjoy the freedom of remote work with the cohesion of a tight team. After a 1–2 week onboarding in sunny Santa Monica—flights, hotel, and ocean-view dinners on us—you’ll work from wherever you’re most productive, dialing into stand-ups at 9 a.m. PT and occasionally flying back for quarterly hackathons.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years shipping production web applications, with deep expertise in Python (FastAPI/Flask) or a statically typed backend language (Go, Java, C#)
- • Proven ability to own features end-to-end—from ambiguous requirements to production monitoring and iterative improvement
- • Comfortable working across the stack; hands-on React experience strongly preferred
- • Demonstrated success building scalable, secure, and observable systems in AWS or similar cloud environments
