  • • Build real-time, low-latency Voice AI systems that detect voicemails, navigate IVRs and virtual assistants, and provide in-call guidance to sales reps during live conversations.
  • • Develop call intelligence layers including transcript analysis, conversation funnel modeling, and Markov-based models that identify patterns between converting and non-converting calls.
  • • Design and implement manager-facing product features that surface coaching insights across entire sales teams based on aggregated call data and behavioral patterns.
  • • Operate voice AI systems at hyperscaler scale, processing approximately 100 million calls per week with strict requirements for latency, capacity, quality of service, and observability.
  • • Make foundational technical decisions on system architecture, including optimal latency thresholds for voice agents and real-time recommendation logic to maximize demo booking rates based on call transcripts.
  • • Collaborate directly with enterprise customers through shared Slack channels, participating in user calls, gathering feedback, and shipping fixes within hours or days.
  • • Own end-to-end delivery of features from concept to production, balancing user needs with technical constraints in a high-velocity environment.
  • • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design critiques, and pairing on complex technical challenges across the stack.
  • • Scale the backend infrastructure supporting real-time voice processing using a combination of React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
  • • Optimize AI model deployment under strict latency budgets while maintaining high accuracy and reliability in production.
  • • Analyze hundreds of real call recordings to identify edge cases, UX friction points, and systemic failures that automated systems miss.
  • • Contribute to the evolution of the engineering culture by promoting best practices in testing, monitoring, and incident response.
  • • Work in-office at least three days per week in San Francisco to support close collaboration with product, customer success, and engineering teams.
  • • Maintain deep ownership of systems that directly impact revenue-generating features used by over 1,500 customers including Notion, HubSpot, Cursor, and Rippling.
  • • Translate customer behavior and sales outcomes into actionable data models that improve conversion rates and team performance.
  • • Balance rapid iteration with architectural integrity when shipping features that are mission-critical to customer productivity and satisfaction.
  • • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system reliability and rapid response to production incidents affecting real-time voice workflows.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of engineering experience with depth in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and/or Python
  • • Production experience shipping AI features under strict latency constraints with strong opinions on model evaluation and performance metrics
  • • Experience operating real-time or low-latency systems at hyperscaler scale, including deep understanding of capacity planning, QoS, and observability
  • • Based in San Francisco with willingness and ability to work in-office 3+ days per week
  • • Proven ability to mentor engineers and elevate team performance through code reviews, pair programming, and technical leadership
  • • Willingness to listen to and analyze hundreds of real customer calls to uncover root causes of system failures
