- • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for 8–12 legal entities, coordinating with on-site controllers, AP/AR teams, and external auditors to compress close cycles from 10 business days to 5 while maintaining 100 % SOX compliance.
- • Design and implement scalable accounting policies that harmonize GAAP, tax, and management-reporting requirements across diverse business models—residential service, commercial construction, and equipment distribution—so each subsidiary speaks the same financial language.
- • Build dynamic, driver-based forecasts and rolling 13-week cash-flow models that give C-suite leaders real-time insight into liquidity, covenant compliance, and capital-allocation opportunities across a $400 M+ revenue base.
- • Partner with FP&A and operations to translate field KPIs—technician labor hours, inventory turns, warranty accruals—into actionable financial metrics that drive EBITDA improvements of 3–5 % annually.
- • Spearhead ERP enhancements (NetSuite preferred) by writing user stories, testing new modules, and training 50+ end users, reducing manual reconciliations by 40 % and eliminating duplicate vendor payments.
- • Serve as the technical accounting authority on complex areas—business combinations, multi-element revenue arrangements, leasing (ASC 842), and equity-method investments—drafting white-paper memos that withstand Big-4 scrutiny.
- • Manage state and local tax compliance across 25+ jurisdictions, identifying credits, incentives, and nexus optimizations that historically save $1.2 M annually while mitigating audit risk.
- • Coach and mentor a distributed team of 3–5 staff and senior accountants, instituting monthly knowledge-sharing sessions that accelerate promotion rates and cut turnover by half.
- • Drive continuous process-improvement initiatives—RPA bots for invoice matching, Power BI dashboards for flash reporting, and Lean Six Sigma Kaizen events—that shave 20 % off controllable SG&A.
- • Present clear, concise financial narratives to private-equity sponsors, lenders, and board directors, translating technical results into strategic insights that influence M&A pipeline decisions and add-on acquisitions.
- • Champion a culture of compliance and ethics by updating internal control matrices, conducting quarterly self-assessments, and coordinating SOC-1 readiness for key shared-service processes.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, supply-chain, and field operations to lock down inventory valuation, cycle counts, and obsolescence reserves, ensuring gross-margin accuracy within 25 bps.
- • Evaluate and onboard best-in-class SaaS tools—Bill.com, FloQast, Avalara, Tesorio—to automate low-value tasks and free your team for higher-order analysis that directly impacts Meriton's growth trajectory.
- • Act as the finance liaison during due-diligence and integration of newly acquired HVAC companies, building opening balance sheets, purchase-price allocations, and 100-day integration roadmaps that preserve customer service levels and cash conversion cycles.
🎯 Requirements
- • Active CPA license with 7+ years of progressive GL accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a multi-entity, private-equity-backed environment.
- • Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, with proven ability to research, document, and apply new standards such as ASC 606, 842, and 350.
- • Advanced Excel and NetSuite proficiency; experience implementing or optimizing ERP modules and integrated planning tools.
- • Demonstrated success leading month-end close for $100 M+ revenue organizations, achieving close cycles of 5 business days or less.
