• • We are actively seeking a highly talented Senior/Staff Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact by working on critical aspects of both web optimization and CloudLinux core features. You will be instrumental in enhancing web server performance, request handling, and overall web infrastructure, while simultaneously optimizing core CloudLinux functionalities related to resource limitation (LVE - Lightweight Virtual Environment, MySQL Governor) and file system isolation and protection (CageFS).
• • As a Senior/Staff Engineer, you will provide essential technical leadership across multiple optimization domains, driving innovation and ensuring the continued excellence of our products. • • Responsibilities in Web Optimization:
• • Develop and implement cutting-edge solutions to significantly improve web server performance, optimize request handling, and enhance overall system efficiency. You will utilize rigorous benchmarking and measurement techniques to validate and quantify all improvements.
• • Configure, optimize, and extend popular web servers such as Nginx, Apache, and LiteSpeed to meet the demanding performance requirements of our clients.
• • Analyze and enhance the performance of various PHP handlers and data transfer mechanisms, streamlining the processing of incoming web requests for maximum efficiency.
• • Architect and design scalable, high-performance web systems and infrastructure solutions capable of handling massive traffic loads.
• • Implement robust security measures to protect against common web attacks and continuously strengthen web server security in production environments.
• • Work closely with MySQL and MariaDB to optimize queries, improve database performance, and ensure the reliable administration of databases supporting web applications.
• • Responsibilities in CloudLinux Core Features Optimization:
• • Maintain and enhance LVE (Lightweight Virtual Environment), focusing on optimizing resource limits, CPU throttling, memory limits, I/O limits, and other critical LVE-related features.
• • Maintain and enhance MySQL Governor, concentrating on database resource limitation and performance optimization to ensure efficient database operations.
• • Maintain and enhance CageFS, focusing on strengthening file system isolation, user isolation mechanisms, and security boundaries to provide a secure operating environment.
• • Design and implement new resource limiting mechanisms and improve existing limit systems to offer more granular and effective control.
• • Create new isolation technologies and enhance existing isolation mechanisms to achieve superior security and performance for our users.
• • Architect and design scalable, high-performance system-level solutions for advanced resource management and isolation.
• • Engage deeply with Linux system calls and system-level programming to optimize the core functionalities of CloudLinuxOS.
• • Cross-Cutting Responsibilities:
• • Lead significant technical initiatives, making strategic proposals that influence and reshape solutions and technical direction across both web optimization and CloudLinux core features.
• • Drive system performance improvements through meticulous profiling, benchmarking, and advanced algorithmic optimization across both web and system-level domains.
• • Make data-driven decisions, utilizing benchmarking, profiling, and measurements to rigorously validate technical approaches and substantiate all technical decisions with concrete data.
• • Contribute actively to upstream solutions by participating in open-source projects and contributing code and improvements to public and upstream codebases.
• • Leverage modern AI tools and techniques to boost productivity, solve complex problems, and enhance the effectiveness of optimization solutions.
• • Mentor and coach fellow engineers, conduct thorough technical reviews, and establish and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define technical strategy and develop product roadmaps.
• • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues spanning web performance, resource limits, isolations, and system-level functionality, implementing robust, long-term solutions.
