• • As a Senior Staff Engineer at Bloomreach, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving the technical vision and architectural evolution of our core Search platform. This is a pivotal role for an individual with a profound understanding of search technologies and a proven ability to architect, build, and operate highly scalable, low-latency distributed systems. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of Bloomreach's agentic platform for personalization, which revolutionizes how businesses connect with their customers through AI agents that personalize the entire customer journey.
• • Your responsibilities will span the critical components of our search infrastructure, including indexing, retrieval, ranking, and query-time execution. You will own and evolve the core Search architecture, ensuring it remains robust, efficient, and capable of handling hundreds of millions of queries per day across our enterprise customer base.
• • You will lead significant, cross-cutting search initiatives, collaborating with multiple engineering teams and services to deliver complex projects. This leadership extends to driving the technical strategy for our search relevance and ranking systems, where you will meticulously balance precision, recall, latency, and cost to optimize performance and customer experience.
• • A key aspect of this role involves partnering closely with our Applied Science and Machine Learning teams. You will be responsible for productionizing cutting-edge ranking models and semantic retrieval techniques, translating research into tangible, high-impact features that enhance product discovery and conversational shopping experiences.
• • Ensuring our search systems consistently meet stringent latency, availability, and scalability Service Level Agreements (SLAs) under demanding real-world traffic conditions is paramount. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the high performance and reliability that our global brands, including American Eagle, Sonepar, and Pandora, depend on.
• • Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a technical mentor and multiplier within the engineering organization. By actively participating in design and code reviews, providing technical coaching, and sharing your deep knowledge, you will raise the overall technical bar and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
• • You will play a vital role in influencing the product roadmap and prioritization by clearly articulating technical tradeoffs, long-term platform implications, and strategic opportunities. Your insights will guide decision-making and ensure that our technical investments align with our business objectives.
• • As a senior technical leader, you will also act as a point of escalation for complex production issues and architectural decisions, leveraging your experience to resolve challenges and guide the team towards optimal solutions.
