- • We are seeking a highly analytical and influential Senior Stress Testing Analyst to join our growing Financial Risk Team, playing a pivotal role in shaping and executing Monzo's stress testing framework.
- • This is a critical position with significant visibility, requiring you to own and articulate complex financial analysis to senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, and the wider business.
- • You will be instrumental in designing, leading, and delivering comprehensive stress testing exercises that underpin key regulatory and internal processes, including the ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process), Recovery Planning, and Reverse Stress Tests.
- • Your responsibilities will span the entire stress testing lifecycle, from conceptualising methodologies and developing robust scenarios to executing sophisticated models, meticulously interpreting the outputs, and effectively communicating findings.
- • A key aspect of this role involves not only delivering on current stress testing requirements but also actively contributing to the enhancement of our processes, governance structures, and analytical toolkits.
- • You will be a crucial point of contact for various cross-functional teams, ensuring a clear understanding of methodologies, underlying assumptions, analytical outputs, and their implications for Monzo's business strategy and resilience.

- • Presenting complex stress testing results and detailed analysis to senior leadership, including Finance and Risk leadership groups, governance committees, and various working groups, will be a core function.
- • You will proactively build and nurture strong relationships with key departments such as FP&A, Treasury, Borrowing, Credit Risk, Data, Product, and others, to ensure seamless data flow and clear, aligned expectations.
- • Crafting high-quality written documentation, including memos, committee papers, and technical documentation, will be essential to clearly explain intricate analysis to both technical and non-technical, senior audiences.
- • A significant part of your role will involve identifying opportunities for process improvement, driving automation initiatives, and strengthening controls within the stress testing framework and the broader Financial Risk team.
- • You will actively support the development, embedding, and continuous improvement of the tools, models, and templates utilised across stress testing and wider financial risk functions.
- • This position requires a proactive approach to managing shifting priorities, taking full ownership of the quality and timeliness of your work, and operating effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- • You will contribute to the overall resilience of Monzo's balance sheet and the effectiveness of our risk management strategies through rigorous stress testing.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in financial risk, credit risk, prudential regulation, finance, or another analytically focused financial services role.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrable experience working with financial models, scenarios, and complex datasets.
- • Confidence in presenting technical or complex analysis to senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes with clarity and structured communication.
- • Understanding of financial statements, capital metrics, and key risk drivers within a banking context, or a strong aptitude and eagerness to develop this expertise.
- • Experience navigating cross-functional environments and building trusted relationships across different levels and disciplines.
- • Ability to translate complex information into simple, compelling messages suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Comfort working independently, managing competing priorities, and taking ownership of work quality.
- • A data-driven mindset with a proactive approach to finding more efficient and scalable analytical solutions.
