Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior UX Manager at Zensurance, you will lead the user experience strategy and execution for a rapidly growing InsurTech platform that is transforming how Canadian businesses access commercial insurance. Your leadership will directly impact the usability, accessibility, and satisfaction of digital insurance journeys for thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises, helping to simplify a traditionally complex industry through intuitive, human-centered design.
- • You will own the end-to-end UX lifecycle — from research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and iteration — ensuring that every touchpoint in the customer journey aligns with Zensurance’s mission of making insurance simple, fast, and accessible. This role is pivotal in scaling design excellence across product teams while maintaining a relentless focus on user needs and business outcomes.
- • You will partner closely with product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to translate business goals into compelling user experiences, advocate for user-centered design principles, and elevate the overall quality of the platform through data-informed decision-making and design systems thinking.
- • Day to day, you will: conduct and synthesize user research including interviews, usability tests, and surveys to uncover pain points and opportunities; create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma and other design tools; collaborate with product managers to define feature scope and prioritize UX initiatives based on impact and feasibility; mentor and guide junior UX designers, fostering a culture of growth, feedback, and continuous improvement; establish and maintain design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across platforms; present design concepts and rationales to stakeholders and leadership, advocating for user needs with clarity and conviction; analyze usability metrics and behavioral data to measure the impact of design changes and iterate accordingly; and stay current with UX trends, accessibility standards (WCAG), and emerging technologies relevant to fintech and insurtech.
- • The UX team at Zensurance is a collaborative, innovative, and mission-driven group embedded within a fast-paced, product-led organization. You will join a company that has been recognized by Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 and Fast 500 for three consecutive years and named a Top Insurance Employer, reflecting its commitment to innovation, growth, and employee excellence. The team values ownership, psychological safety, and bold thinking — encouraging designers to challenge assumptions and push boundaries in pursuit of better user outcomes.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of digital insurance in Canada, build and mentor a high-performing UX team, and leave a lasting impact on how businesses experience risk protection. You will grow your leadership and strategic influence while working on meaningful problems at the intersection of technology, design, and financial services — all within a remote-first environment that prioritizes flexibility, trust, and results.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of progressive experience in UX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing designers and guiding UX strategy.
- • Expert proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design system creation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design projects.
- • Proven ability to conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research, translating insights into actionable design decisions.
- • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product environments, preferably within SaaS, fintech, insurtech, or digital services.
- • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and a commitment to designing inclusive experiences.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first work model with flexible hours and the ability to work from anywhere in Canada.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, including mental health support and wellness resources.
- • Generous vacation policy plus additional wellness days to promote work-life balance and prevent burnout.
- • Professional development stipend for courses, conferences, and certifications to support continuous learning.
- • Equity participation through stock options, allowing you to share in the company’s long-term success.
- • Regular team offsites and virtual events to foster connection, collaboration, and company culture despite remote work.
