- • Lead, plan, organize, and direct the performance and operational functions of the Health & Government Markets Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to ensure growth, market competitiveness, and sustainable profitability.
- • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for government-sponsored programs, including Medicaid and Medicare, with a focus on defining and positioning competitive, scalable benefit offerings.
- • Build and maintain senior executive and C-suite relationships with major health plan partners to drive membership growth and revenue expansion.
- • Serve as executive owner for key program and operational capabilities that support client delivery, regulatory compliance, and performance outcomes in regulated healthcare environments.
- • Define and recommend strategic objectives across all areas of responsibility, including developing short-term and long-term plans, budget requests, and financial estimates aligned with SBU goals.
- • Review and approve SBU organizational plans to ensure accountability for membership, EBITDA, client retention, and revenue targets within VSP.
- • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and cross-functional business leaders to design government-specific benefit programs that align with regulatory requirements and market expectations.
- • Lead SBU operations and partner with cross-functional teams to meet client operational and compliance needs in complex, regulated environments.
- • Establish strategic direction for business investment decisions, including trade-offs, acquisitions, and retention strategies to optimize market position.
- • Maintain current industry knowledge and relationships to forecast market trends and respond proactively to evolving regulatory and competitive dynamics.
- • Lead sales management in setting annual goals, developing execution plans, and providing education and training for sales teams.
- • Work with executives and other SBU leaders to shape the strategic vision and direction of the vision care business within government and health plan markets.
- • Ensure all business activities comply with regulatory, audit, and compliance standards, partnering effectively with legal, compliance, and operational teams.
- • Translate health plan requirements into scalable operational, product, and technology solutions within large enterprise environments.
- • Travel up to 30–40% of the time to support client engagements, partner meetings, and strategic initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
- • Ten years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/management roles, leading cross-functional interdisciplinary teams
- • Senior leadership experience in government-sponsored managed care environments, including Medicare Advantage and managed Medicaid, with proven success in complex partner relationships and C-suite engagement
- • Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies and benefit solutions within regulated healthcare environments
- • Strong working knowledge of regulatory, audit, and compliance expectations in healthcare
- • Clean DMV record
