  • • Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our IT Operations team on a contract basis at our headquarters in White Plains, NY.
  • • As a key member of the IT Operations team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-level solutions across our ITSM and HRSD ServiceNow platforms. Your expertise will directly contribute to streamlining business processes, enhancing the employee experience, and significantly reducing manual workloads through the creation of scalable, secure, and integrated workflows.
  • • This role demands a deep understanding of the ServiceNow ecosystem, coupled with the ability to balance strategic system design with the practicalities of day-to-day operational excellence, particularly within complex and evolving environments.
  • • You will serve as the critical link in managing and optimizing our ServiceNow platform and its supporting infrastructure, ensuring it effectively meets the dynamic needs of VEG.
  • • Your primary focus will be on the comprehensive design, configuration, and continuous enhancement of all ServiceNow modules, including ITSM, HRSD, and other relevant areas, to precisely align with evolving business requirements.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve developing and maintaining custom applications, intricate workflows, robust integrations, and all associated automations within the ServiceNow platform.
  • • You will be responsible for implementing and meticulously refining Access Control Lists (ACLs), business rules, UI policies, and data policies to guarantee the utmost security, compliance, and data integrity across the platform.
  • • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with the Program Management team and various VEG stakeholders across different departments, including IT, People, HR, Finance, Security, and Operations, to thoroughly gather requirements, translate them into detailed technical specifications, and ultimately deliver high-quality, impactful solutions.
  • • You will play a leadership role in conducting code reviews, providing essential technical guidance to other team members, and rigorously enforcing best practices for both development and testing methodologies to ensure consistent quality and maintainability.
  • • Troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing platform performance for speed and efficiency, and actively supporting system upgrades and patches will be crucial responsibilities to maintain optimal system health and reliability.
  • • Furthermore, you will actively contribute to shaping the future ServiceNow roadmap for VEG by proactively identifying opportunities for further automation, enhancing knowledge management capabilities, and driving improvements in the overall employee experience.
  • • The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player, adept at translating cross-functional requirements into effective platform solutions. We value clear, concise, and validated work in ServiceNow architecture and management, supported by comprehensive automated tests and documentation.
  • • You should be a continuous learner, committed to staying current with the latest ServiceNow releases, industry best practices, and emerging technologies such as Virtual Agent and NowLLM, ensuring VEG leverages cutting-edge capabilities.
  • • This role requires an individual who thrives on interaction, enjoys mentoring junior administrators, actively contributes to team discussions and meetings, and takes pride in producing understandable, thoroughly tested, and well-documented solutions.
  • • We are seeking self-starters who demonstrate a strong sense of ownership over their work, contribute positively to a team-oriented environment, and prefer collaboration over working in isolation or requiring constant oversight.
  • • While developers may often work remotely, occasional team trips to newly opened hospitals are anticipated. These visits provide invaluable opportunities to observe challenges and solutions firsthand, gain a deeper understanding of the needs of our frontline VEGgies, and learn about their daily operations, fostering a connection between headquarters and the field.
  • • The complimentary snacks in the break room are a small but appreciated perk of working at VEG Headquarters.
  • • VEG is a certified Great Place to Work® for 2025 and 2026, reflecting our commitment to our people.
  • • Our mission is to help people and their pets when they need it most, and this role is vital in ensuring our internal systems support that mission effectively.
  • • You will be a crucial part of a growing company that is revolutionizing emergency veterinary care, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact.
