- • As a Site Reliability Engineer at The Economist Group Limited, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of critical cloud infrastructure supporting global delivery of The Economist’s content and services.
- • Day to day, you will build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, manage AWS multi-account environments, operate cloud-native workloads on ECS and Lambda, integrate security scanning via Snyk, support Cloudflare edge services, implement observability with New Relic, and collaborate on incident response and compliance efforts.
- • You will work closely with Engineering, Platform, and Service Management teams within an organisation dedicated to innovation, independence, and rigour, delivering analysis and insights to subscribers and businesses across 170 countries.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AWS, DevSecOps, observability, and incident response while contributing to resilient platforms that enable safe, scalable service delivery and improve developer experience through automation and security best practices.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong experience in AWS environments with 4-5 years of experience, preferably with multiple accounts and production-scale workloads
- • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as CircleCI and GitHub Actions
- • Solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, network security, secrets management, and logging
- • Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for automation, tooling, or backend services
- • Experience working with observability tools such as New Relic and understanding of SLO, SLI, SLA
- • Strong collaboration and communication skills with ability to influence engineering teams
- • Ready to participate in 24x7 production support for mission critical applications
