📋 Description

• Site Reliability Engineer (Contract outside of IR35) at Twinstream AG, a remote role focused on ensuring the availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of cross-domain services used in high-profile government organisations.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with software engineers to improve reliability and performance, partnering with system administrators to automate toil and eliminate alerts, evolving observability and monitoring capabilities, supporting development environments, researching and evaluating technologies for buy-vs-build decisions, developing expertise in technical and business domains, and expanding knowledge of technical stacks.
• Twinstream AG, founded in 2019 by engineers with government organisation experience, has grown to over 100 team members across the UK, delivering technical excellence through hybrid and remote work models, with a focus on solving complex cross-domain problems.
• The role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in cloud and on-prem infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and system reliability while contributing to mission-critical services in secure environments, with potential to influence architectural decisions and grow into a trusted SRE leader within a growing, inclusive tech consultancy.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience using AWS
• Experience with modern configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef or similar)
• Experience working with Terraform
• Experience with Docker containers and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift or Docker Swarm)
• Experience using and maintaining CI/CD tools (Jenkins or similar)
• Experience with monitoring tools (InfluxDB, Prometheus or Grafana)
• Experience with event-driven integration using MQ messaging (RabbitMQ or similar AMQP)
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Linux command line, administration, and shell scripting
• Working knowledge of network security protocols
• Experience with cloud hosting services (AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda)
